stadium seats

a few years ago i found out that a company was going to be selling off seat pairs from the old detroit tiger stadium. As a devoted tiger fan, i wasted no time in purchasing a set for a mere $250. The seats were sold out in 2 days, so when yankee stadium seats were released to the public, i wasted no time in purchasing a single "commemerative seat" for $750 since the pairs were way too much($1400). The single seat displays way better than a pair ever would and i absolutely love it. I was and am still amazed that over one year later you can still buy a seat from old yankee stadium!!!!! I heard there was an issue with the lead in the paint of the seats and they all had to be striped and repainted before they could release them.
My questions are
1. Why are these seats not selling?
2. Will they ever grow in value due to the obvious lack of interest?
3. Is the "commemerative seat" worth what i paid for it?

I would like to purchase my seats from Giants Stadium that I sat at last October 3rd and mount a blow up of my ticket as a display, but the cost (that I could better spend) and where to put them (hate to just stack them in my garage) is my reasons why I prbably won't purchase them. Lastly, if I wasn't married this probably be a non issue at my house.

the nice thing about stadium seats is not only the memorabilia factor but they are functional. You can actually use them as seats for your mancave and they really don't take up much space considering. Two descent chairs would cost you as much as $400, plus you will own a piece of history to boot not to mention they are quite the conversation piece.

What REALLY tempts me to buy these, was because it was a Springsteen concert that I was at. Getting Bruce to sign the chair would be my ultimate goal, but incredibly difficult. But "if" that could be done, WOW, what a collectable. (I can see it now, lugging a stupid stadium chair in the back of my truck all over L.A. each time he is here, trying to get it signed. Sheesh!! )

you could take the seat apart and "lug" around the seat back instead of the whole thing. The seat back is the spot you would want the sig. Or you could buy just the seat back (its a fraction of the cost of the seat)

When it comes to the Yankee seats it is two things. First, Steiner is charging way too much money. Most aren't willing to pay $1,400 for a pair of seats. Secondly, they were sent out and many complaints surfaced that they were re-conditioned and people were annoyed. Collectors wanted them as is.

This is a funny subject being that I just unearth Original Dodger Stadium seats that were never installed back in 1960. They were "borrowed" by my da who working in the construction. we had 8 in our backyard, then we moved. He told me to look under my Grand-mother's house before he passed away and I didn't see a thing. We'll now Granny has passed at the ripe age of 102 and I was having a Termite Inspection last week. He pulled out 1 side of a chair from underneath the house (crawl space) and said "what are these" they are scattered all over the place. I had them pulled out and they are in remarkable condition, though there was NO WOOD. If anyone has any suggestions or knows where I can get wood for these, I am sitting on 20 original Dodger Stadium Seats!
