DIMAGGIO #8 (CARD) BLUE INK WITH MANTLE

All right guys....something a little different....here are a few examples of Joe Dimaggio signatures...some are authentic...some are not...some of these are from on line sites...some of these are are from my PC...and one of these I know was signed in person from one of my buddies collections...

Which ones do you guys feel are authentic and why ?...as you can see almost all of these autos are not even close to being the same...which makes which the real Mccoy ?...please feel free to leave comment on what you guys feel are good and or bad and why do you feel so with the # of the photo...I know there has been lots of Mantle threads on here but I think its now time a Joe Dimaggio thread should be started on to what they look like and what we should stay away from...and what characteristics should be looked out for in purchasing an authentic Dimaggio...

Please post any Joe Dimaggio photos you have or any information regarding the "Yankee Clipper" that you may be able to help share on the education on one of the most unpredictable auto styles of one of Americas Icons...

CEE this is awesome.  I will take a look at this later when I have some idle time!

Whats up Terrier...why were those numbers of choice for you ?...

These are tough!!

Here are a couple from my collection. the index card was an in-person. the photo I have had for probably 15 years, and I do not remember where I got it.

One thing I have noticed and is evident on Terrier's photo as well as #2 and #3 above is he sometimes had a very light pressure on the loop of the first g. The ink is real light there and may skip a bit.

Loving your Dimaggio photo bro...that's simply a fantastic piece...looks like he signed the index in a bad mood ?...thanks for our adds...I will download them and repost tomorrow...

great adds from my pal terrier8hof....Joe Dimaggio

Of the ones above, I'd be shocked if #2 was fake.

And #8 looks fake to me, but primarily because I don't like the Mantle! :-)

Hey Mr. Zipper, I felt the same way about #8 for the same reason!  plus the sharpie is so thick I really can't see it.  But the Mantle looks funny so i drew the same conclusion on the DiMag.

What do you think of these two?

Even though the second one is unusual, I think they are both good.

Hey Pete...I also agree with Terrier...love those cards...the second one is a bit odd but there are lots of great qualities...
