Anyone familiar with Tamino Autographs?
I just bought an autographed carte-d-vis of British actress Ellen Terry from Tamino Autographs. It's a beautiful image with a nice bold signature. I'm very pleased.
Tamino has many interesting items. Just wondering if anyone has bought anything from Tamino?

Indeed. Who would forge an Art Carney? He can be had for about $20-$25. They want $140 for that pathetic forgery.

That’s the kind of ridiculous stuff I sometimes see too. I sure hope NO ONE buys it but I know some people don’t do their research.

I suspect it is just a case a person needs to be very well informed and knowledgeable on the autograph. I do not know the Duke of Windsor's signature that well. With some sellers once in a while an authenticate one sneaks in. Just like some excellent sellers get a bad apple or two. Good ones will appreciate knowing. That is why I respected Tom Kramer so much. I pointed out a Griffith secretarial years ago and he emailed me and thanked me. Tom told me if I ever saw anything else on Golden Age Autographs to let him know immediately and that he would in no way be offended. That is a rare thing. I had a seller on eBay (that I used to buy from) block me just because I politely pointed out a secretarial either Griffith or Tony Curtis forget now. I did not realize he blocked me until I went to buy it now for something and it said I could not buy from that seller.

I agree, Scott. As you say, a potential buyer would need to be knowledgeable about the signer they are looking at. But isn't that true about many sources these days?
The problem is that many potential are not autograph collectors as such and might not even suspect they would be well served to "do their homework" (or know how to even begin).
p.s. It is Edward and Wallis...but rather overpriced, imho!

A lot of times sellers that have bad items for sale at bargain prices are not looking to sell to experienced autograph collectors. They are looking for Great-Aunt Hetty buying that perfect autographed photo for her nephew's birthday. My best friend in autograph collecting for years said he still has a framed John Wayne photo his wife had bought for him years ago. He has never had the nerve to tell her it is fake lol.
