Anyone's opinion greatly appreciated here...before i buy.

Here is an item i would love to have. found on collectablemusicstars.com-photo of the item is on the right of page, (click to enlarge). says it comes with COA but doesn't say who certified it, also says there is a proof photo at signing but doesn't show it. would this be a safe purchase?  it seems good to me, especially if they do really have the photo to show of this exact photo being signed... thanks for any opinions!

I'm also looking into an online auction going on next month at backstageauctions.com, suppose to be stuff from pantera's manager to be auctioned off- anyone know how legit this site is? much appreciated!

I can tell you that the picture posted is a forgery. As for backstage auctions I bought a Pantera platnium riaa award from them and everything was great. I suspect its from the same manager Walter O'brien or Sweet pea from the home videos.

thanks a million mike and rob, i guess that's why they don't show the proof photo they claim to have with it.  I will look forward to this backstage auction going on next month then.

No problem. I am pretty good with pantera autographs (I have several which I obtained in person and have handled hundreds of them at this point). Feel free to post more I will gladly help you out. I did notice on ebay there are maybe only 2 or 3 authentic examples currently listed ( I only breezed through the listings) so be careful. The tell tale sign is dimebags autograph, it seems its hard to forge and is easy to spot.

Also note dime signed both "dimebag" or "dimez" depending on time constraints.

thanks again for that info Rob, they are indeed my favorite band of all time-really sucks we will not be seeing all four of em on stage again. I'm glad i got to see em here in Salt Lake for the beyond driven tour (not even listed on jerseys i've seen) then they were scheduled to perform here with sabbath in like, 1999-had bought my ticket, and it was rescheduled, then canceled.

Damn that stinks, I have seen them live around 15 times here. To this day I still get withdrawals =)

Great thing about this day in age is it takes 1 trip to youtube to get memories back =)

I have to say that these autographs are not genuine. I also looked on some of the other autographs that was on the web site, and I don't think any one of them are genuine.

I will show a very early set of Pantera autographs from 1991.

That a very nice early example.

thanks Bjarne, much appreciated i will add this to my library of authentics for reference!
