How does PSA explain this??

There is an ebay seller named schu45. I have no idea if his autographs are authentic or not.

However, he has over 800 items listed on ebay and all of them have a In The Presence COA from PSA. My question is how does PSA issue such a COA for all these Hollywood stars? Are they sending a representative into the field to cert. this items on the spot? Does not sound likely.

Or is there another way that they can cert 800+ Hollywood in person autographs.

Last time I looked Al Pacino , Cindy Crawford, Laura Linney and 800 other Hollywood personalities have not made any personal appearances to sign autographs.

The PSA In The Presence COA specifically states that the autograph was WITNESSED by a PSA representative.

Is this seller a PSA representative too, besides being a seller of autographs?? Conflict of interest I would think if that is the case. Is the seller a friend of someone on the PSA authentication staff? I am just asking a question.

I have written to PSA and await an answer or perhaps even an appearance here to answer.

I never questioned the authenticity of the autographs.

I just questioned what was going on with the certs and how were they being issued.

Look at the sellers description. He states all his autographs are gotten in person by him or someone working for him. Then look at the cert in the picture. That cert in his picture is the In The Presence cert. That is in every auction , in every picture. That is not the regular cert for PSA. It is on their own website. The words In The Presence are printed on the cert. The cert. says nothing about it being their opinion. If a notary public, who has to witness signatures, did something like this, they would lose their license.

And I am sure Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood are not doing any private signings to give PSA the opportunity to use this cert on their autographs.

I doubt we will get an answer as from what I am hearing the seller isn't answering questions it appears with regards to Certs having implied that a PSA rep was present. Also doesn't appear any answers are forthcoming on when & where they were signed.

This would appear to add to perhaps an improper business arrangement as there are only a few solutions - brian sobrero works for matthew shuman or sobrero is simply passing along "guaranteed" certs to shuman for sale. That being the case, next question becomes are these really "guaranteed".

According to PSA the signing is witnessed, a sticker is applied, a numbered cert is issued and the DNA is applied. And this is all recorded in their database too.

WOW!!! all in the street too,,, on the red carpet, in front of a restaurant, outside Tiffany's :), with 11x14 easy to handle photos. The PSA representative that is doing this should get a raise.

There is something absolutely false, imo, about the claim this seller (which I again relist below along with the indicators) makes although it may not lead to "illegal" activity.

I have since notified EBAY's Trust & Safety with regards to the irregularity of these postings since they are being sold on EBAY. That route does take some time.

I didn't read every listing except for the following which is stated by the seller in numerous ones I did read;

autographs were obtained in person by me. I do not sell any autograph that I did not personally see get signed or a employee of schu45 obtained. I have been in the autograph business for over 10 years

and what I understand PSA indicates;

although fearless leader sometimes misses the "dry wit" (make mine a double shaken but not stirred) but he is right that many simply read these posts off the internet and run with it... and don't always distinguish the differences.

By sides, I am on the side of the collector and am astonished by the silence. There may not be anything illegal going on. It may simply be an embarrasment for an explanation. If there isn't anyting amiss then I'm fine but when there is silence we can be at our worse.

PSA sure does seem to get caught with its pants down a lot. Then they just keep walking without pulling them up nor saying a word. One day they may just trip...

When you are on the stock exchange subject to boards and stock holders there are limitations to what they are willing to put out there in public.

there most likely is a simple explanation but I susepct it will contradict someone's statements - be it the seller or how these are being provided to this seller, presuming it is a "legitimate" business arrangement.
