Howdy all,

Today I purchased from a local flea market, an original and beautiful 5x7 Charles Igor Gorin vintage autographed head shot It is signed in black fountain pen and also inscribed with a line from one of his songs. The songs line reads at the top of the photo, and on the reverse as follows:

"Just the echo of my heart ringing through the years I will love you till I die"
Igor

Also on the front in a much larger print he signed in fountain pen "Sincerely Igor Gorin"

Igor also wrote two address on the reverse in a blue ink (again very nice no fading):

"Charles Igor Gorin
To Metro Goldwyn Meyer Studios
Washington Blvd, Culver City, Calif

Then he puts the word "or" between the address and it continues with:

"Charle Igor Gorin
2037 N. Whitley Ave
Culver City Calif

After the addresses he writes:

"One and only Igor" underlined

Dated Jan 1938

Anyone here know what to make of it? I know who he was, but I can not find one example for sale to try and determine a value for insurance? Any suggestions?

Igor was a popular singer in the 1930's and stared with Judy Garland in the MGM film "Broadway Musical of 1938." He is credit with TV spots stage performances etc, but as most stars of his day he faded into obscurity, or so it seems. See his info at IMDB.Com.

Correction: The move was titled "Broadway Melody of 1938" which was Judy Garlands big break in film, after her rendition of "You made me love you, I didn't want to."

Thanks again for any assistance
I'm not qualified to authenticate, but Markus Brandes might be. I'll shoot him a message and see if he can take a look.
Thanks! I know the autograph is certainly genuine, my question is rarity, and value. Any help is aways appreciated, thanks again your the best.
Dear DC

Unfortunately I don't have any references for Charles Igor Gorin and my knowledge in Broadway autographs are rather poor. Please apologize that I could not help you with the estimate of the value of this piece.

kind regards
Markus
Markus,

No worries, I appreciate you taking time to look. As irony would have it, I did another internet search and found two auctions with signed pieces from Igor. See links below:

With this piece of info the range seems pretty broad, but for a 1 dollar flea market investment, I would say it turned out just fine. Thanks.
