Yeah, it is signed in silver sharpie I guess.  It is somewhat hard to see.

Boy, I see what you mean. They sure are close in style, Gordon, but I still don't think your Clapton is genuine. I could be wrong, though. This is where input from specialists would make a difference.

The forger could have used a genuine one similar to Roger's, or the piece Roger used, as reference.

I really appreciate the input Steve.  I'll wait a little bit and see if others wish to give their input.  Maybe down the road I'll ask Roger about it but I am already to the point of writing it off as a forgery.

Gordon,

I'll invite Roger to comment, because you brought up something really important: Some of the better forgers model their work from existing memorabilia.

In our piece, "How to Buy Rock...Without Getting Rolled" is a "Help" lobby card supposedly signed by the Beatles, sold by American Royal Arts and authenticated by Chris Morales. But it's a clear forgery: Paul McCartney's inscription and signature were copied from another genuine item, which we inset over the lobby card image in the article.

That's quite likely what happened in the case of yours, unfortunately. BTW, did any of your albums come with independent authentication?

No, they did not.

While it won't get your money back, Gordon, please hang on to the items and any documentation you have. It could be useful for law enforcement.

Will do Steve.

Its very similar to the signed program I also have a couple of these in my personal collection but the first thing to look at is his handwriting in Best Wishes which to me is way off.

The end on Clapton (ton) looks like a scribble and as if he's dotted an "i" ...

the Srv is real... im looking at one now in my hand,
