So, there's a Brady private signing coming up, and I was initially excited, right up until I followed the link from my email to see the going rates. I was expecting 200-500 as he is a big name, so needless to say a small amount of smoke came out of my ears when I saw the asking price was 600 to 800, and inscriptions are basically 11+ dollars a letter.

All I can say is ouch

Now I know he's a top quality player, and is going to go down as one of the top all time QB's of all time, but man is that a load.

Any other celebs/athletes that you know of that run such a high price as that?

Sports autograph prices at shows and public/private signings are generally absurd and often represent just about the worst value in autograph collecting.  About a year ago, I recall seeing the $80 price tag for Colt McCoy at a show. I really, really wanted to see who was in line for that.  I watched Sam Bradford charge $100 - 150 last year for his autograph at the Sun-times show.

Aaron Rodgers' latest private signing was something like $229 for flats, $90 per inscription.  Glad I got mine when I did.  Shaq is charging $300 at this weekend's Mounted Memories show.

Yea but 600+ for a sig, and 169 for up to 12 letters and 229 for up to 20 on the inscription. I'd rather pay the 90 bucks for 4 words

Flats were the 599 for Brady, premium items were higher

Yeah, that's just stupid.  Lombardi's autograph is cheaper.

Also, you're being generous with the "letters."  I believe there are a two actual, marginally legible letters in his autograph.  T-line-B-line/loop.  For $600, he could at least throw out a better effort than his lazy half second sig.  When I got Rodgers, I threw in two inscriptions just to make it feel like I was getting some actual writing on my photo.

No, I meant the inscription they are charging for letters not words.

Ah, I see.
