On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

This coat against classic Bush.  I don't know who is penning these but I still don't think they look like Bush sigs.

Im glad you are all noticing these now. Ive never liked these autographs and I was following Juliens sales for a long time when it came to MJ items. I didnt know as much as I do now, but they never looked right to me. For one thing, people tend to let autographs slide a little when they are on fabric, but Ive noticed a lot of genuine MJ signed items that were very smooth on fabric. He signed so much, he was very good at adjusting for the most part. None of these autographs are smooth flowing. I agree with Roger. I dont think they are the same forger, but i could be wrong. It just is so amazing the amount of bad MJ autographs through Juliens alone! They promote selling signed items and so people fake signatures so they can sell stuff for high prices. Juliens has caused this problem on their own.

I grabbed this sig and put two Bush sigs from current auction.  I don't see this as being a Bush signature, it doesn't look the same to me.   Bush sigs to me look very airy or open and larger throughout the sig - not sure how authenticators describe that lol.  The top one doesn't look that way to me...  Letters are all smaller except the M, J and end loop.  Smaller h in Michael, smaller k in Jackson again (no huge tall loops)

Again, here I see similarities in the M, the CH and here with these the CHU (really supposed to be CHAE) in Michael and the K ad N in Jackson. Again, this is me looking at each letter, not just the whole signature. I think the top one is slow and deliberately written to get it just right and the other done in a drunken rage, quickly, sloppy and recklessly.

Again I don't think this sig is done by Bush.   This shirts sig compared to latest Bush auction sigs.   They aren't even close to me.

I am by no means an expert, but when I see these two sigs together, I DO see the similarities in the Love, the M in Michael, the CH in Michael, CK in Jackson and the N in Jackson. The current BUSH ones are rushed and jumbled. This other style here is done slower, seems deliberate and stretched out like they wanted to get every letter in. The current ones skip letters and are sloppy.

Just my observation.

Have we broken $5 million yet?

Steve, I've been asked a question as to whether the examples I'm uploading look like classic Bush style MJ signatures.

I REALLLY believe we are forgetting all that we have so painstakingly already proven in numerous comparisons before the Dec. 2nd auction even happened.

Could I PLEASE possibly upload my examples in 1 big file again?  Or are they the ones Darren claimed copyright on?

It's just that things seem to be getting confused somehow.

Thanks.
