AUTISTIC CHILDREN : CAN U HELP ME REACH MY TARGET ?

Hi everyone,

I'm just about to leave to go off and run (I use that term in the loosest sense of the word cuz at my age I stumble along) the Vienna marathon but when I return I shall be at it again :)

Vienna will be extra special for me as I'll be meeting and running on the same street as one of my all-time heros - world champion, Haile Gebrselassie, and he will (hopefully) sign some photos for me too!

Now ... I am VERY proud to let all my fellow autograph collectors know that I am one of only fifteen runners selected by "Aspect" - the Australian Autism Charity - to represent them in the 2013 City-To-Surf run in Sydney.

"Aspect" is the largest non-profit provider of autism specific services in Australia and every year they work with more than 10,000 children and adults with autism and their families.

Autism affects about one in every 100 people. Typically people will autism will have difficulty with communication and social interaction. This can make autism isolating not only for the children and adults with autism but for their families. Autism lasts a lifetime and there is no cure but with the right specialized services the lives of those living with autism can be transformed.

The team of 15 runners is being led by Australian Olympic gold-medalist field hockey star and model Kate Hollywood (google her to see the pics but I can't be held responsible for what it will do to your heart rate !!) My race plan is simple - just drop in behind her, admire the view and I'm sure to record a new personal best time .... ha ha ha.

Every single dollar helps and ANY donations, no matter what size, will - I GUARANTEE - help me get from the start, in Sydney CBD, up and over 'HeartBreak Hill and down to the finish on Bondi Beach.
