Thanks Carl, for an intelligent and well thought out reply. The estate was that of Frank Caraglio, one of the most respected dealers the KISS community had. There is another member who was given one of these in Shreveport. He has said he would post it soon and hopefully we can be over this. I just refuse to be bullied or to have a dead mans excellent reputation questioned. Thank you, your non accusatory, unpretentious reply was well received, respected and professional.

Now that I am at my office and someone did ask my opinion on this photo, I do not believe it is authentic. Things to note are the "E's" in Peter and the "E" in Ace, they are signed by the same person. Ace also stopped doing the "looped" "ehl" after about the first week of the reunion tour and changed to "bumps". There are other mistakes but these are easy to explain.

The Reunion tour Started June 28 & this was from July 28 but Roger you're going to determine that after signing using those loops almost exclusively early in his career and then intermittently throughout his career he suddenly stopped one week in to the reunion tour? That's terrible advice, not to mention the Aucoin Mgt contract scan I posted where the Ace signature is a %90 plus match, the Peter is at least another good tool and the Gene looks like my 3 and your 1. You're leading people around here who seem to hang on your every word, at least preface your statements with "in my opinion" because ultimately it's just opinions as there is no way you can call even your best judgement a fact. So until Chris Piazza posts a scan of the one like this he got from Doc McGee........

Good comments Carl. John Reece, It seems like you really want this item to be authentic, but the proof is in the pudding with it. I don't understand why you are so hellbent on defending this piece, especially since it is something you did not obtain yourself. We all have been fooled before or mislead, it's nothing to get upset about, or worse yet - ruin your reputation by defending a dog of a signature. Lighten up a little?

Thanks James, for a respectful and professional comment. It's about defending the honor of a dead man. from about 1993 to 2002 and of course once the reunion commenced the New York area Kiss community was like no other. People like Richie Ranno and Frank Caraglio were at the center of a thriving division of the Kiss Army. Frank who was a mentor to me passed away, I realize %90 of the people here have no idea who he was but I still.

Anyway, I'm done with it.

I still stand my my comment that one hand signed all the signatures on this item. The pen pressure is the same on all the signatures. That would basically be impossible.

Will this be the first time someone in management gave a bogus autograph as a gift- no and it surely will not be the last.

Of course this is just my opinion- as are all my comments on this site.

Yes Richard that does seem to be the view of the majority here. An opinion I feel I am valid in not sharing. But that has been more than covered. There is another member who was given a similar photo by Doc Mcghee, I have yet to view it but hope to soon. Is it possible that Doc signed it? Sure it is. Are the signatures of a vintage/contract/cursive style that each band member has used at one time or another? Absolutely, undeniably yes. Here is what I know, this photo came from one of the best known and trusted dealers of his era, Frank Caraglio......VIA Joe Gangone.VP of sales Madison Square Garden.....VIA Tim Rozner KISS production and tour manager. I'm hoping to see the photo that Chris has said he has for comparison to this one. In the meantime there has not been one shred of proof to invalidate this photo. Yes it is uncommon but I have never seen the best forger be able to duplicate Pauls "P" and that Gene has characteristics that match every single vintage or vintage style Gene sample I have provided. Right now its not so much the question of real or not. It's the fact that beyond "uh-uh it don't look like my Kisstory" there is not one single reasonable argument against this being real.

Actually there has a been a lot of very good arguments as it its questionable authenticity. People get things wrong a lot on this site but there are so many who have given their opinion on this and not just from some kisstory examples.

The problem for you John is that you did not see it get signed. So you can defend its history all day long but you cannot say for sure it is authentic as you were simply not there. Even the most experienced dealer makes mistakes. This might be one as well.

For me all I have to do is look at pen pressure and compare ace's sig to paul's and its beyond obvious that the same hand signed this item. I wouldn't even need to know kiss graphs to determine that I would personally pass on this piece.

BTW, I am not attacking you or trying to discredit your friend and mentor.

I'm no beatles expert but remember that some of the bands autographs were signed by their manager and such. Who is so say that this piece is not of a similar fate. Is it also possible that maybe these were known to be dubious but due to your friends passing that portion of information was lost?

Cool photo though.

I hope the other photo gets posted but I suspect it won't.

yes it's possible Doc McGhee - or anyone in their entourage signed it. You have to consider the actual signatures - not the source. Definitely still not signed by Kiss..D
