Hey guys,

I've been looking through eBay and I've noticed this new seller "celebzdirect22" that is offering some pretty nice (and high-end) pieces on his ebay page. Apparently celebzdirect is some sort of sports marketing company that is seemingly able to acquire some nice pieces. A lot (or actually; almost all) of their baseball pieces come with a LOA from Sammy Ellis - a former MLB pitcher. I googled to try to find some history of Sammy Ellis LOAs, but nadda. He also uses the same picture of Sammy Ellis on all his listings, somewhat as "proof." Was hoping whether you guys knew anything. I asked about a DiMaggio ball a day ago and the two responses I got back had said it was genuine, and it looked genuine to me. The ball sold for $177, but I was hesitant to pull the trigger.

I think people should really take a look at this. Celebzdirect is either a great seller (on their website [celebzdirect.com] they claim to be able to be in contact with many present and past star athletes) or an extreme forger.

Yes it is William, everything I posted was offered by that seller but some items have already sold. I'm thinking about putting a bid in on the DiMaggio, but the "io" at the end of DiMaggio and the dotting make me worrisome. Any thoughts on the piece?

I don't like the Williams or the second DiMaggio. where is the terrier?

On their website they mention that they auction off personal collections. I'm guessing this is Sammy Ellis' one - if they aren't lying.

That's the only thing I could figure, they were signed maybe in the seventies or something. The DiMaggio is the better of the two and signed with a bit more "flair" than the later show signings and could well be authentic. I just get tired of using the disclaimer its just an amatuers opinion.
