the cert scares me, but the signature actually looks good. But I have an easier time with williams on baseballs.

It looks bad to me IMO.  Heres a Gai forgery to compare it too.  MFP COA`s cant be trusted as well, so I here.

just because an item has a questionable cert, doesnt mean it is automatically fake. even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.  I do not see these two signatures being the same.

Im not saying that but honestly terrier I do respect your opinion any day of the week.  But I feel this photo he uploaded is not a real Williams.  With all do respect.

Erich, I respect your opinion too. I am really not sure about this photo either, I have an easier time judging williams on baseballs, but this photo does have some characteristics that I look for.  however,I probably wouldn't buy it, nor would I recommend it to someone else.  the one you posted I dont like at all, I agree with you on that one.

I've noticed that the corners of some of the letters in the signature seem to have a sharp ending.  Usually, I've seen Ted Williams' signature with more rounded letters.  I'm not sure but since there are so many Ted Williams signatures out there, I'd try to for a more concrete example if I were you.

I noticed that too Mike. Wonder if it would pass Psa. Just curious.

I agree.  It seems in the middle but baseballs are easier to opine on than these photographs.

Bought both the Mays and Williams for $50 each

Mike, when I buy an item I am not 100% sure of, I put the item up for sale on eBay with a bunch of pictures and get a PSA quick opinion on it.  Once you get the quick opinion, I take the auction down and work from there.  It's only $7.95 as compared to the $75(?) fee to submit it directly to PSA.  Personally, I am not comfortable with this Ted Williams, but if you feel that this signature could be authentic I would go on that route.  No piece is worth having if you are going to be doubtful with its authenticity, so keep that in mind as well.

That's exactly what I plan or doing, or going to KSA (an authenticator here near Toronto) and getting them checked out.

Mike, I hope it works out for you.  This one is really tough.  Mike P's comment about the angles is correct.  It bothered me when I noticed it to, but overall I thought the signature had positives.  I just checked a large amount of PSA certed Williams photos to see if any of them exhibited this angular characteristic, but I did not see one.
