FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR T.T.M. OR S.A.S.E. BASEBALL AUTOGRAPHS YOU HAVE RECEIVED PAST OR PERESENT

Hello Fans...I figured I would throw this out there for strictly baseball collectors who seek to get autographs through the mail the old fashion way...directly from the player...I have received probably over 100 autos but stopped maybe 4 or 5 years ago when I lost my contact list...but recently started it up again and since then received a few autos through the mail since the end of July...it is now currently (August 2011) so now I am hooked once again...please feel free to add pictures and comments about the autographs you received from BASEBALL PLAYERS with a simple envelope and stamp and not something you have received through the mail from a winning auction...

Feel free to include autos you got for free and also Players that sent back a request for money as that also happens from time to time or even if they wrote you back which is also an added bonus and a rare treat...

LET ME KNOW...

HAPPY COLLECTING !!!!

Been a while since my last baseball TTM....got this nice Brain Asselstine in today. Thinking about trying to get the other 3 guys on it if I can.

Picked this up for a low few of $10 at a flea market stand..photo not in great shape looks legit to me the Brett auto looks like fading at the beginning but not sure if real or fake..please I would love input on this triple autograph..

Wow, some really neat stuff in here.  Had no idea auto's were so accessible through the mail.

I assume when you send something, even like an 8x10, you have to also put in a self addressed and stamped envelope?  Or money for them to pay for postage to return the item?

What are people's rate of return of received/sent items ratio?

I average roughly 66%. The address website I use actually has a stat tracker built into it. Been using it since 2010.

2010 = 67%

2011 = 78%

2012 = 70%

2013 = 49%

Hoping that 2013 average goes up soon as I have a good many pending requests still out there!

Any chance you could share that website, either here or by PM'ing me?

Thanks a ton, Tony.

I got plenty of TTM successes dating back to 1994. Too many to mention but IIRC, Leon Day was one (he died the same day I received his signature, sadly). Dave Dravecky too. I usually used their team's addresses. Recently, I have been dry on the autograph end, SPECIALLY on the sports-autograph end.

I cut this beautiful picture of Mickey Mantle's 1963 jersey out of a magazine, and thought it would be nice to honor him and the 1963 American League champions by trying to get a few of them to autograph it. First up, Jim Bouton. Jim was an All-Star in 1963, and was a 21-game winner that season.

Curtis Granderson - sent in spring training 2012, returned November 21, 2013. He did not sign my card, but sent a signed postcard. It is a real signature (not pre-printed). I am not that familiar with Grandyman sigs... is it good?
