Thanks William, that is some very helpful information! I am going to get more high res images or go see it in person next week.

I emailed the person and found that he sent it it both companies, I'm guessing pretty recently....he said "Both JSA and SGC commented on how high the quality is of the signature and the photo card."

How much do you think this would sell for? Hoping I have enough money! LOL.

Thanks everyone for your comments and opinions!

$5000 would be a good price for it but I'm guessing the seller wants more. It is really not worth more than that in my opinion but to the right collector it might be. Good luck!

I have to disagree on value. This is a 3.5" x 5" post card size photo and was a popular Ruth medium during his later years. For $7500-$10,000 you can get a similar quality autograph on an 8" x 10" photo if you look hard.

There are a lot of high grade signatures on this medium in the hobby. I have owned a few authenticated examples in similar condition and $5000 is a good number for selling them.

BabeRuthautographs.com is a full retail site and he has a PSA/DNA graded 9 example on a slightly different but same size medium and it is for sale for $6500. It also comes with the original mailing envelope.

David, this one is a good option for you if the one you are looking at is priced higher.

Of course, the final decision always comes down to what a collector will pay.

In an auction setting, it is certainly possible to get two die hard collectors who would bid this item to $7500 but they can be purchased outright for much less than that.

Just my opinion based on buying and selling Ruth autographs for the last 20 years.

Thanks Randy and William for the info regarding value...you are great resources and I appreciate all your input, as well as everyone else that has commented here!

Can't disagree with you William on the apparent grading disparity on the two autographs. Certainly based on the pictures, this one is indeed bolder than the PSA/DNA graded 9 on the web site.

However, in my opinion from a selling standpoint, the graded 9 with what appears to be a weaker autograph in a PSA/DNA slab will bring more money on the open market than a stronger looking graded 8 autograph in an SGC slab.

Authentic in my opinion.

I did not want to comment on this because I really don't know Ruth`s sig.  And I usually make an ass of myself talking about Ruth.  The one thing I noticed was the ink.  Now that I see it has been deemed authentic by JSA, SGC and a few members on this site.  I would just like to say.  That is awesome to have such a bold sig.

William is this a no-brainer authentic Babe? I'm not good with the Babe, but this just looked odd...This is PSA/DNA authenticated:

how about this one, is this a no-brainer?  it is JSA'd

I don't like it but the certificate # does check out with the picture on the JSA web site so they obviously did authenticate it.

I saw that picture on Ebay and just assumed it was authenticated by one of Coach's Corner's chosen authenticators. I never even clicked on the auction to look at it because it looked so bad and I look at almost every Ruth autograph on Ebay.

I have to say JSA and Jimmy Spence in particular knows a lot more than me but I would not buy this one even with his LOA.
