Wow... I feel so estatic right now.  I just came back from the Calgary Airport and I got not one, but TWO Team Canada pucks signed by Canada women's ice hockey gold medalists Hayley Wickenheiser, Jocelyn Laroque, Meaghan Mikkelson and Rebecca Johnston!  Obviously, I'm going to keep one.  The other one I plan to sell.  I know there are plenty of fans out there but I'm not going to pretend that they are just as popular as men's NHL stars.  I'm just having trouble deciding how much to sell it for.  Price is always subjective and value is based on how much someone likes them.  For me, I'd pay maybe $50 for this puck but that's because Wickenheiser lives in my hometown and based on my connections it wouldn't be too too hard to get her autograph myself.  The other three aren't as famous as she is and I wouldn't care about getting their autographs because most people wouldn't know who they are anyway (unless if you're a diehard women's hockey fan, which is only a small percentage of this population).

I don't want to sell myself short but at the same time, I'm not going to overprice it and pretend women's hockey stars autographs are just as demanding as men's hockey stars autographs.  So... with these four ladies' autographs, how much do you think I can sell the puck for?  And also, I've never posted anything up for sale on Ebay.  As it would be the first time I list something, would Ebay waive the seller's fee?  Please help me on this.

Congratulations on getting the pucks signed. Pretty cool stuff.

My advice is to sell for $25 and hope for the best. The fire is still "Hot" so I don't see how it would not sell for @ that price.

Not sure about EBay waiving the fees. Sorry

Good Luck.
Allan

$25 is the way to go....

I do a ton of stuff on ebay and they do have specials sometimes for fees....I would advise you sign up and you will get more information from there...

Congrats on the signatures!  If you are open to trade I would be interested.  If not, good luck with the sale, its a great piece!!

Thanks Allan and NotLou for the advice.  You both think $25 is all I can get, despite the fire being "hot"?  Wow... this is a little sad.  I know women's hockey isn't as popular as men's but I didn't think there would be this much difference in value.  If I have four mens' hockey players' autographs, this puck could be worth hundreds!  If that's what it is, that's what it is.  But now I'm wondering if it's worth the effort and whether I should just give it to a friend instead. :(

Probably more valuable as a gift to be honest. I think you'd be able to get a bit more, say $50, but I'd be surprised if it went way over that. Women's hockey really isn't popular aside from the Olympics and the WC to some extent. I know there is a recently established women's league so if that gains traction it may go up in value, but as of now, I doubt it.

Thanks for your input, Mike!  I'll consider that.  I don't think the fire for women's hockey will get hotter than now, to be honest.  Even for myself, I don't always know where to go to watch women's hockey outside the Olympics.  Maybe you know someone who might be interested in my puck?

I've honestly never met anyone who collects women's hockey memorabilia.

Hey guys, great news!  I sold the puck!  I actually sold it the day after I listed it on EBay (less than 24 hours) but I didn't have time to come here to share until now.  Wow... this is something for the team.  Their popularity is increasing.  I sold it for $55 + $13 shipping = $68.  The guy didn't ask me any questions.  He just clicked "buy now".  This is good news for me but I would think that most people would ask questions before buying autographs.  I'm glad he trusted me and he should, but at the same time I wasn't expecting trust from someone online automatically, and women's hockey players' autographs are hard to authenticate.  Maybe the autographs looked real to him and he didn't need to ask any questions?  When you guys sell autographs on EBay, do most people ask you questions?  Just curious.  This guy doesn't seem dumb either.  He is an adult around 40-50 years old and of a respectable occupation.  (I checked him on FB as I like to have an idea of who my products targeted.)  Regardless, I'm glad he purchased from me because I know the autographs are real. :)
