Caught 2 eBay sellers in blatant lies today about how they acquired their items
First is this pair of signed Michael Jordan 1985 shoes with asking price of 100k.
He said he's had them for years and that I'm an idiot if I think they sold for 400 a few weeks back

My bad. I was wrong...he picked them up for 385

Then this guy is selling these shoes he "thinks" Jordan wore even though they are too small. Says they've never been for sale publicly and were obtained by a friend of MJ...except I found the original listing where it says they were found in a storage locker lol

Why lie about that stuff when you can easily find out the truth?

This is the best one I think.  He replied this to me:

"Do you collect shoes? If so you would know that you can send any pair into upper deck and pay $200 and MJ will sign it.. But signed in 1985 is a different story! You clearly are clueless on the rarity of these shoes and it's sad that you wasted my time. I believe you had no intention to make a purchase anyways so thanks again"

Can someone please tell me if I can send shoes to Upper Deck and Jordan will sign them? IF so he will sign them for $200?????

Also there is no way he knows when those were signed.  Hell they were just certed in 2014

Pretty sure $200 won't pay for half a Jordan sig.

Thats what I said. I also asked him to please show me where he read that and I would send 10 pair out tomorrow.

I showed him another auction with MINT 85 signed jordans with UD authentication.  His reply was that anyone can send to UD and have them signed for 200, and well you read the reply.

Last reply cause Im done with this guy.  This is what he responded to me saying no way to the UD claim and the fact that he cant verify when (date) that they were signed.

"Ok straight up that was supposed to say 2000 and that's what the girl authenticating told me. She can't put that on the COA because she can't verify but it has been preserved since then. Look if ur no longer interested I am not gonna waste my time with you.. Buy it or don't but if you're truly a collector you'd know what they're worth."

Yeah NOT 100K

How about this one:

Asked how he got it. They replied "I do and go to lots of charity auctions in the seattle WA area"
Except he clearly only won it for half the price the other day....

People are idiots

Here's an eBay seller that states:

"THE SIGNATURE WAS OBTAINED IN PERSON AT THE HOLLYWOOD SHOW IN 1994 AT THE BEVERLY GARLAND HOTEL IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA! WE GOT OVER 25 SIGNED HESTON PHOTO'S AT THIS VERY RARE PUBLIC SIGNING!. THE PHOTO YOU SEE IS OF A FAMILY MEMBER AND MR. HESTON !"

This is clearly a well-known "Chall" secretarial signature....liar liar.

LMAO!

The seller states:

" WE GOT OVER 25 SIGNED HESTON PHOTO'S AT THIS VERY RARE PUBLIC SIGNING!. THE PHOTO YOU SEE IS OF A FAMILY MEMBER AND MR. HESTON !""

That's Scott Schwartz aka Flick from A Christmas Story

Im not sure that is Scott Schwartz... He was born in the late 60s and this photo (if taken in 96-2000) would put him at 33 or so.. The kid in the photo looks awful young..

What the issue is here is that a lot of ppl who do not know sigs as in depth as some of you all will see the PSA authentication and think its ok...

Im not into hollywood graphs anyway but this puts the buyer in a tough position.

The description stated that it was obtained in 1994, though who knows when that photo is actually from.

I saw that but then the seller also attached a link to the "rare public private signing" haha and the link on the flyer stated the next signing was in the year 2000??

I thought that was weird.

Yep. It might be bought by some knucklehead PSA sticker collector. That auction is not an authentic Heston. EBAY seller is a liar. His sig is way to neat. It should look like this:

Tyler, it's Scott Schwartz from A Christmas Story. No doubt about it.
