Hello folks! Very soon I will be sending off 2 autographed baseballs from Bert Blyleven & Bob Feller to either PSA or JSA. I've been using PSA for autographed trading cards but this will be the first time I've sent any baseballs to be authenticated. All of my baseball autos I have acquired in person, except these two, and haven't needed to send them off because I don't intend on selling them (which in my opinion is one of the reasons to get an autographed authenticated). Anyway, my question is concerning opinions on using PSA vs JSA. I haven't heard anything bad about JSA, but just wanted to know anyone's opinion on using them for authentication. Thank you all in advance!

I don't understand why you need them authenticated. I have not seen many forgeries of either. You would be hard pressed you even get the cost of authentication covered if you try to sell them.

I don't plan on selling them, first of all. I just want to have them verified authentic.

Put them up here. There are people on this site whose opinion is at least as credible as the tpa's

Keep in mind only ONE of these services satisfies the UACC criteria for approved Autograph Authentication service

And that would be JSA?

There are many UACC dealers peddling forgeries. They need to do a better job policing their own before approving or recommending outside authenticators. Many use GA. How the hell are they OK with that?

Rick, so for sports autos would you recommend PSA/DNA over JSA?

Yes I would.

Attacking UACC Dealers has nothing to do with the point made.    And is just unnecessarily malicious.
The point IS if you read the UACC Policy on third party authenticators  (which obviously some in this thread have NOT even taken the time to) you would understand their position on what constitutes an authentication recognized in a court of law.    It is one of the ONLY objective criteria you will find on 3rd party authentication.  Otherwise, you are just obtaining mostly subjective nonsense from every self-proclaimed "expert" out there/here.

I am not giving an opinion on either or as they are both reputable authentication services, but the fact is if you use PSA and ever are challenged in court it will NOT be of any use to you,  Period.   Meanwhile, I would not take advice from someone who tells you to use one over the other based on nothing but subjective opinion.   And, I would surely not take advice from someone who slanders the UACC and it;s members as the guy above did,   There is a reason why the UACC is the oldest autograph collecting organization. and unlike other clubs it holds their members accountable.     Although you'll often hear from former "Banned" members who are always ready to add their derogatory "two-cents".

I thank you for all your opinions. I am closing this discussion as I do not want an argumentative thread continuing. Thank you all again for participating in this discussion.
