Sandra, He was a fantastic artist.  Don't underestimate him to only drawing cartoon like.  Here is Peter Pan.  And a photo of him actually drawing it (there are more photos of this online)  And below that MLK.  He was reallllllllllly good.

And then there is this one

Exactly! Don't be so close minded
Picasso did more than just cubism....
He also drew the the little boy in the corner next to the lyrics for Have You Seen My Childhood found in the CD sleeve. Which was a very realistic style. Just because someone draws something in one style a few times does not mean that's all they ever did. He did amazingly detailed and realistic work.

dang that mlk drawing would fetch a pretty penny!

Thank you for all your answers and your testimonies.
I have this sketch signed in my possession and I want to sell it, that's why I solicits you;)

:) Ahhh ok.

What I personally would do, is email Roger with everything you have on it (hopefully you rec'd something in writing on its provenance and not just someone saying "so and so found it")... and have him give an opinion.  This will add value to your piece.

Thank you for your help;)
I acquired there so many years before the death of Michael Jackson and I had a letter from the studio "Hit Factory" written and signed by Terry Lewis but I lost it during a move: (
But I hope that I can do authenticate

Wascher, I've spent a small fortune on MJ memorabilia in the past year. I mainly purchase autographs, gold records and signed album covers. But I would never bid on drawings, costumes, shoes, fedoras, etc. There are too many fakes out there. Thank you for the information on the warehouse items. What a treasure trove!

I wouldn't mind getting a wardrobe piece - but I'd want it to be pre-Bush/Tompkins.  As much as I appreciate the detail he had in designing pieces and such, once he lost his "friend" and turned him into a deceased cash cow with forgeries - I lost respect and it would disgust me now to own one.  Plus who knows when it was really made (as in maybe yesterday?)  No thanks.

I definitely don't blame you. The Bush/Tompkins auction on Juliens.com was a disgrace. In fact, that's how I found this great forum. =)

I went through their items the other day (for May's auction), and did see some Bush/Tompkins sigs in it, but they look like ones we've already seen being resold (probably people who couldn't get a refund---their solution was to resell it for some folks---gee nothing like getting double commissions and fee's on forgeries.  Win-Win for them!)  The other sigs don't look that off to me.  There is one secretarial though and one that you just can't see his name--but the inscription writing is very off on that one, so I know for sure there are at least 2 bad items.  (besides the B&T repeats)

"gee nothing like getting double commissions and fee's on forgeries.  Win-Win for them!"

Lol! Right! At least we know which ones to avoid. What do you think of the signed albums in the May auction? I saw a few that looked suspect. I plan to bid on a couple of albums. I want to make sure I'm not getting a forgery. =)
