Bob Marley Signed Album From Antiquities of California

Started a purchase of a Bob Marley signed album. Uprising. Afterwards I started reading some horror stories of FAKES and bad dealers. I ended up here hoping that someone can steer me in the right direction. I have put half down on the Lp and actually got a little nervous when I started researching.What do I do?

The way I read things, I have been lead down a dark alley. The articles seem to be a little sketchy. To make matters worse I emailed the sales person and he hasn't returned my email. So quick to return one when they are about to make a sell. I did pay by credit card just for that reason. At least did one thing right. Tried to purchase a Sanders guide but our book store chain doesn't carry it. Can anyone tell me what  a Bob Marley autograph record should go for? bottom and top price. Hard to find anything on the computer about it.

Greg, you're right. I am being way too nice. We've rarely seen autographs from either Antiquities that we thought were genuine, besides some of their easy to get modern autographs.

I hoped that Damon read the blog posts from Toby Stoffa of Anquities Las Vegas here that I pointed him to.

They've got a Beatles "Hey Jude" album on their site for $16,995 that could be sold to a dealer for many times that if genuine. Can't even see the autographs.

They've got a Led Zeppelin I for $3,995 that would sell for 3-4-times that if genuine. Again the autographs are too small to see.

Damon's Bob Marley album would sell for $4,000 easy if it were genuine, yet he said he's paying a couple thousand dollars. And Damon...to make it clear, I do not think it is genuine and I'm strong on my opinion. And I recommend getting a reputable second opinion on anything that comes with authentication papers by AAU/Drew Max. They are heavily used by the sellers of forgeries.

All I ask for is honesty and straight forwardness. I read the posts from Toby and it did seem a little odd. From a business standpoint though, she has to sell things to stay in business so.....but anyways I APPRECIATE the help from you guys. It means a lot someone is willing to help a stranger ( to me at least ) keep from getting ripped off 2400.00. The retail price he said was 5 something thousand. I wandered into the Bob Marley forum and was reading something about the fakes...a person claiming to know alot about Bob's signature claims the real ones have different B's and M's, so sometimes it is hard to compare. I think I am going to ask for my money back and give up the conquest of obtaining a Bob Marley Autograph for now. I am Tile man by trade and work extremely hard for my money. Thank you again Steve and Greg for time and help.

Your bookstore chain is probably part of Borders. They returned everything they didn't sell--about 900 books. They can't even pay publishers for what's sold.

Here's a Marley "Uprising" album sold for $3723 w/buyers fee by RRAuction.com in 2006 with Epperson-PSA/DNA authentication:

Nice Marley albums are RARE, and if it's genuine yours would be a great example. I'd say it's worth roughly $5,000, even in this market. But you never know what it would actually sell for.

I live in a small town. The salesman contacted me back offering a refund. He said in his opinion and a court approved handwriting expert that I would be passing up on a legit Bob Marley autograph. I am waiting for Roger to answer my question. Hopefully that will shed some light on the subject. Any one have the Sanders guide handy?

As coincidence has it...I happen to have a Sanders Guide 7th here. It has signed albums at $3,000-$4,500.
