Ebay Seller Ashtons..attic Mickey Mantle Autographed Baseball Forgery Ebay Seller COA Hollywood & Sports Memorabilia

Here's another typical ugly Mickey Mantle forgery on a baseball with a worthless COA from Hollywood & Sports Memorabilia.

I have yet to see any autograph with a COA from Hollywood & Sports Memorabilia that is authentic.

This hideous-looking Mickey Mantle forgery on a baseball is listed by Ebay seller Ashtons..attic.

The only people who buy and sell crap like this are the suckers and wannabe autograph collectors with ZERO knowledge.

These are the same people who infect our autograph hobby with their forgeries.

And, of course, Ebay continues, as they have for the past twenty years, to PROFIT from the sales of forgeries.

Here is that ugly Mickey Mantle forgery on a baseball listed by Ebay seller Ashtons..attic.

Dom,

Please don't use derogatory references like that.

Sorry it just makes me mad when these buyers purchase forgeries like that. They keep the sellers in business

Dom,

I'm sorry to hear these horrific replies and all others on this link.  There is so much hate here.  This all started off totally innocent on my behalf; selling this & that on eBay to help other people.  I was very much unaware of any of this when I listed this item for someone who just wanted to clear out his collection.

One, I'm not a scammer, I'm not a broad, and I relisted without the COA because you people didn't validate it.  I'm not trying to fool a moron buyer; I'm not pedaling.  I clearly stated that there was no guarantee the signature was authentic, as honestly, I have no freakin' idea.

I'm not a professional handwriting expert.  I can only go by he said, she said.  We've contacted PSA and they stated they cannot just look at a signature by photograph and decipher it's authenticity, the ball would have to be mailed to them; much more is involved.  But you can.  We even spoke to someone on his cell phone no less on the Hollywood listed website; and he stated there was nothing he could do as Hollywood Sports Memorabilia is no longer in business.  Maybe this is why.

If there were no bidders I would have gladly closed the auction.  Maybe there are some people who just want a subject for their coffee table.  I don't know.  I will consider all that was said here.  Every bidder has the right to return for a full refund.  Either way, it appears the the person who owns this ball is the person fooled in all of this.  There's no getting his money back after all the time he's had it.  That was a dumb remark.

Again, this has been a horrible experience for me; running across so many hateful people that are so eager to shake their finger, demean my reputation, but not lend a helping hand, or offer any information as to why they share this opinion.  Oh, right .. that's irrelevant.

I'm just not this kind of person and honestly, I don't care what you all think of me.  At first I did, but what you are saying about me on this website of yours; they are words world apart from who I am.  This conversation is sad.

Ms Baker,
I am sorry but I spoke with respect and honesty to you on this blog. I am a Professional autograph authenticator and I have worked directly for over 13 years and I will guarantee that the baseball you are selling is not authentic. Forget the COA's and any other reasons you may have for continuing your sale.
It would be the right thing to do is remove in order to help your credibility with ebay. If you think it should stay up because it has bits, the honorable thing to do is add that P.A.A.S. has examined this signed baseball based upon the scans and has determined the signature not to be authentic,
Thank you
Michael Frost

Ms. Baker, we don't hate you, we hate forgeries and we are sick of them infecting our hobby.

Do you think that re-listing your Mantle forgery without the Hollywood & Sports Memorabilia COA would miraculously make your Mantle authentic?

Ms. Baker, why would you try to contact Chris Morales?  Are you aware that Chris Morales is deservedly on Ebay's Banned COA list?  In my opinion, Chris Morales has "authenticated" more forgeries than any other phoney authenticator.

We will continue to expose Ebay sellers of forgeries.

your statement about PSA is not quite correct. they have a "quick opinion' service on their website, where you give them the item number of your listing, and they will render an opinion. I believe the cost is under 10 dollars.  it is true that in some cases, you have to see the item in person to be 100% certain, but with this forgery style, which is well documented, they will render an opinion.

Gee, I wonder why Hollywod Sports Memorabilia is no longer in business?

It's illegal to sell fakes, whether it's a forged autograph, imitation Louis Vitton purse, or Rolex watch.

That's why you should not sell it.  It's illegal.

Go read about operation bullpen http://www.fbi.gov/sandiego/about-us/history/operation-bullpen

None of the replies have been horrific or hateful. When I was reading through Mr. Williams post, whom I consider the top Mantle expert in the hobby, and saw you relisted the fake baseball without the COA. This was after you were notified it was a forgery. I'm not saying you knew before you originally posted it that it was fake. When you put it back up after knowing it was bad, I thought that was shady. I'm sorry I called you "broad" but the meaning of the word is just 'woman.' I'm sorry I called the bidders on your baseball morons but the meaning of that word is 'foolish.' Real collectors are tired of these foolish buyers of forgeries that keep bad autographs selling and flooding the market.

The bidders on that forgery are morons.

Funny when the EBAY seller of forgeries plays the victim.......

I hope everyone see's how this seller has behaved here and avoids this horrible seller. Folks like this have ruined EBAY.

Ok so its not yours ?  It belongs to someone else?  Why would YOU risk YOUR eBay reputation for someone else?  Why not just pull it if it really isn't yours?  I know if I was "helping" a "friend" and I found out what they wanted me to sell was something that was going to scam someone I'd say - forget it!  You sell it - I'm not getting involved!

It's amazing that once these sellers of forgeries are exposed, they fall back on "I'm selling it for someone else."
