Eliot Ness TSL documents

Hi I'm new. I just posted this on my profile (I think its on my profile, if I did it right!) but thought I'd add it here as well.

My grandfather worked for the Post Office in Cleveland in the 30s, and the clerks put on a play (that's my grandfather as the groom in the advertisement); the two documents are signed, typed letters on City of Cleveland letterhead, addressed to the city police, giving permission for the clerks to have a parade and advertise the play by having my grandfather and the 'bride' walk down the street window shopping. Both letters are signed by Elliot Ness who was the city's Director of Public Safety. 

I am not a collector and I don't have any knowledge of this world, but since we dug these out of the family storage boxes I've become interested. I do have some general idea of the value and rarity of these documents but any comments and/or information are more than welcome. Thank you!

Well, they probably will be - at some point. The family is discussing that now. None of us is well versed in the world of collectibles, autographs, auction houses, etc. so I'm in research mode right now. I did get an offer to put it on consignment at an auction house but that's not until Spring. 

I would appreciate any thoughts from those who know on the best way to go - eBay, direct sale, auction, whatever else??
