Jerry Lee Lewis New Book and Signing?
has anybody got information about what bookstores jerry is attending to sign his new book ? I say sign as I have seen at the barnes &noble store in new York while he will be in attendance the books will be pre signed and only the auther will be signing !! does that set any alarm bells off
at this moment this is the only signing he will be attending does anyone know of any others as would really like to add him to my book collection and being based in uk I have to get in touch with the stores in usa !!

Sure, here’s my opinion: If you begin at page one and read through the posts the majority of comments are about the quality of the signature and where to get a signed book. On page six I believe Roger Epperson was the first one to come right out and say he thought the signatures were fakes, and he gave reasons for his opinion. After Roger’s comment it more or less came down to comparing signatures that people claimed they got directly from JLL and ones that were either obtained TTM or obtained from JLL’s assistant, JW Whitten.
It wasn’t until page 12 where Ballroom posted a definite signature from JW Whitten that we could see how Whitten formed his “J” starting with the downward bottom loop and then the upward top loop, and how he wrote the word “thanks”. Comparing this Whitten signature to the JLL pickguard which you supplied (with the pickguard showing the JLL flow of the signature and the sequence of overlapping lines in the J) you can see that the motion of forming the J in the signed B&N books is more similar to the Whitten “J” than the JLL “J”.
That’s what clinched it for me, I don’t think a hand will create their “J” in an opposite direction due to fatigue. This, coupled with the long discussion of the fake JLL signatures through the mail which has been covered in depth elsewhere, is why I don’t believe this to be his signature. Not to mention that all the book signatures posted on line look the same, there are no examples of good JLL signatures from his book. Trust me, I really did want this to be his signature, but I don’t think it is.

Blinky, I agree with you wholeheartdly. One other point I will bring up. If Jerry Lee were going to sign them himself, he would have done a traditional book signing, and would have signed fewer for sure. However, those who got one would have no doubt about it being authentic. I would love to see someone get a book signed in-person and compare it. It won't even be close. It is very clear to me that the books were signed by JW Whitten and not Jerry Lee. I wish it weren't so, but I just can't come to any other conclusion.

I took another look at the Whitten signature and can't see how it could be determined that he signed counterclockwise or created the down-stroke first. It looks to me like he starts in the middle and draws the top of the J first then proceeds to the bottom loop and finishes the letter pointing towards the original starting point. There is then a pen lift and at some point (either after writing the W or after finishing the J) puts the downward line as a "." between the J and the W much like the "." after the W. In other words, he forms the letters and then puts the periods down.
Furthermore, I have never seen or heard of someone forming a J with the bottom being written first. Does anyone on here create a J in that manner?

I'm not seeing that. All of the "J"s appear to me to have been formed in the same direction, including the Whitten "J". You're saying that JLL forms his "J" in the opposite direction as the Whitten "J", and that all of the book "J"s are formed in that same opposite direction?

I just realized it was kind of pointless to post a comparison of JLL to Whitten without the book signature in there too. Here are the three. Maybe my original points are not as strong as when I first made a comparison & an opinion, but to me it just isn't a strong case to say the book signing is legit. I have doubts, maybe I should leave it at that.

There is no way anyone can tell the pen direction from the low rez images of the signature in the middle.
