Paul, I saw this piece as well. I was wondering the same thing - whether or not it's authentic. While I have some familiarity with Lennon's autograph, as many of us Beatles' fans do, I don't know his handwriting that well. If this is authentic, it's pretty cool, given that it's inscribed to the legendary Fred Astaire. That would make it quite unique.

Man, I just wish Lennon would have signed his full name. I'm not a big fan of first name autographs myself. However, there is a cool inscription. I like inscriptions myself. To me an autographed item should generally be worth more with an inscription, even if it's personalized. The personalization just adds character, and brings the item to life for me. As some people say, the more writing the better. Anyway, I'd love to have a John Lennon autograph, but I'd like to have the last name too.

Yes indeed James.

One of the other members said to me its been at auction before. So that means the ebay seller may be telling a white lie saying he is best mates with his grandson. A really interesting piece.

Yup...just don't know about that story. That'd be great if it was inscribed to Fred Astaire. I guess, though, as long as the John and Yoko autographs are real, it wouldn't really matter if the Fred we're talking about was Fred Flinstone.
