What do you think of my Joe DiMaggio pic? I've had it for a long time and it has a COA from a guy called Nickolas R. Burezyk (or something like that).

It's Nicholas Burczyk and he's on Ebay's Banned COA List.

Your "DiMaggio" is a "Florida" forgery.

Nicholas Burczyk never examined a sports autograph.

His name has been dragged through the mud with the "Florida" forgeries.

Humm.. I got it from an army benefit auction years ago and not ebay, not that's going to make it anymore real. Glad I didn't pay to have it framed but what is one supposed to do with a fake autograph.

I guess I figured that AAFFES was a reputable organization that would vet things like this before they sold it. I don't think you could see any info about the COA at the time, just that it was authenticated. I figured the low price was a benefit to service members, clearly I was wrong.

Do you think all the autographs on there are fake? It's a military organization, I might be able to make a fuss with JAG about this.

I have yet to see an authentic autograph over at AAFES for the last five years.

I think a few people have tried to "make a fuss" about that crap, but they continue to sell the "Florida" forgeries.

I'm going to see what I can do. Unfortunately for me I also picked up a couple of mantles around the same time frame. They have different COA's but I presume the verdict is the same.

While I should have done a better job vetting the signature myself it seems the seller should be ensuring things are real. When you sell a product you should have at least try to ensure you are selling what you say you are.
