Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

There seems to be another pillowcase in this series (not the sweatshirt, the drawings and pillows) up for sale on ebay here: (Apparently purchased from the USA)

I am a fairly new member here, and I am not even a Michael Jackson fan or collector, but I began reading this thread, and actually went through the entire 66 pages, as I found the entire examination and revelation of the various forgeries to be incredibly informative.

Kudos go out to Wascher and Lizzie.  Your determination and eye for detail is pretty amazing.  Perhaps you should be in the authentication business rather than some of the self-declared experts out there.  I know that I would never conceive of buying any Michael Jackson item without getting your approval first, notwithstanding whether it was plastered with five other COAs/LOAs.

So, congratulations on exposing so many fake items, and on a job well done.  It is too bad that so many of these items can still be listed on ebay, and in various auction houses, with complete impunity, and no real way to warn ignorant buyers, or those who believe the COAs that supposedly authenticate these items.  There should almost be a website devoted to known original and known fakes of his artwork.  Maybe that would chase the forgers back under their rocks where they belong.

Sadly, there seems to be no end in sight to the production of these very dubious drawings.  Interestingly, there is a seller on ebay who seems to offer a very similar 'selection' of signed drawings, to those currently on offer by Simon Parr auctions.  At very much reduced starting prices too!

Here is a current example drawing from franko1991ashley, on ebayuk (boys head with MJ initials only):

It is very similar to another offered on Gumtree in March 15 (boys head with a 'full MJ signature').

I mentioned that the items offered were similar in 'type' to those on Simon Parrs July Auction.  For example, here is a cartoon cat from seller franko1991ashley (straight tail), and a genuine cartoon cat by the same artist, Gilbert Shelton (wavy tail):

I wonder if UK HMRC might turn out to be the answer to all this nonsense. (That's Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, otherwise known as the UK taxman!) I have been reading that HMRC are cracking down heavily on any UK sellers who do not declare tax on ebay sales, specifically sales carried out by way of a business. (You can still sell old birthday gifts and personal grown-out clothing etc without tax).   HMRC are currently investigating Etsy, Gumtree and other online sellers, and have the right to demand all sales records from these online sites.  I guess HMRC will look at consignors to auction houses too.  I await the results of their investigations with great interest.   :)

This signature (on smooth criminal) is the same as the one on Snow White as well as other items I posted to compare them to.

The handwriting on these is hideous and not even close to MJ's.  Unbelievable.  And even worse is we have this forger, now copying Erick too... how much worse can it get?
