Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

""Most of the drawings not only come with Epperson coa's but Frost and PSA/DNA, so as we keep pointing out, is everyone wrong but the people on live autograph magazine.""

I am sorry but I do not think those are the facts Mr. Parr.

This is the problem. People with PSA DNA trying to get stupid prices $25,000 that is not realistic, so then others go out and sell things much cheaper on eBay, and the people who think the $25,000 person is off their head then pay the cheaper price. No one will get off eBay, but that is the problem, tons of fakes on there without coa's etc. At least our items come with top coa's, however lots of auction houses don't provide coa's. Julien's for one. RR auctions will charge you extra if you want a coa, and on and on.

I'll let you all get on debating everything for eternity . The best thing for you all to do is band together and open up an auction house then argue between yourselves which items are real as you will still question PSA/DNA till the cows come home.

^ That 'stupid price' is the genuine asking price for an official limited edition print of a genuine portrait, painted by a genuine artist, and it is said to be the only portrait ever painted with Michael as the 'sitter' as opposed to being painted from photographs.  The original was commissioned by a Japanese businessman and it was painted in 1990.  A limited print edition was released, and each print is signed by both Michael and the artist.   The prints have been made on specially produced limited-edition 'textured' paper which cannot be faked.

As with any limited edition prints, owners can effectively ask whatever price they wish for them, according to the owner's wish to see a return on their original investment.

I would much rather an auction house where people are debating authenticity than one like yours which tries to avoid CLEAR and OBVIOUS evidence of fraudulent signature sales. Clearly you are BANKING on a "witch hunt" and attempting to disregard legitimate cautionary advice given to you by members who are posting here.  You seem to enjoy dismissing and insulting members of this forum by calling them "non-experts," while the very experts you shield yourself with, are ALSO members here.  Your motive is very obvious, that you are trying to block a "cloud of doubt" from surrounding your listings, and the very existence of this forum and THIS discussion will create enough doubt pertaining to authenticity of your listings and ultimately your business.  No matter what you say at this point, you have already lost.

+1

In the case of Michael Jackson autographs, I will take the opinions, findings and work of those on this website over the authenticators mentioned. Those posting here can and do back up their opinions with reasoning and proof. You will rarely get that from one of the authenticators mentioned.  Most of the authenticators mentioned are respected overall but can and do make errors. There are clearly items "signed" by MJ wrongly certified authentic.

After a careful review of the auction, there is not one autographed Michael Jackson drawing that I would say I am comfortable with. These high valued lots should be examined and authenticated by an knowledgeable expert prior to a sale like this.

The silence is deafening.

Thank you for responding to this Michael Frost.

Anyway, before I forget, there were a few signed drawings that were inadvertently left out from earlier posts as follows:

1. Auction dated 29th August 15

2. Auction dated 24th May 2014

(The Heal the World drawing has a COA from Jason Cullen, according to the description)

One of my favourites is the final item, the signed Tee shirt.... (Should be popular with 'Believers')    :

Jason Cullen = Owner of Rare and Signed who's COA'S are banned on eBay because he authenticates ANYthing.  Top COA's lol.   Ok.

I've seen our Ireland seller with both Rare and Signed coas as well as Academy of Manuscript and Autographs - and they are both interchangeable--meaning they authenticate anything.  Here's one from the Academy on one of his pillows....

Nice cookie cutter autographs

Keep up the super findings Lizzie & w
