Are uacc certified dealers reliable

Guess what? Autograph collecting is imperfect. Sellers. Buyers. Authenticators. All humans.

The UACC is a fine organization and their Registered Dealer Program does help vet the integrity of it's members. And it does give someone an additional avenue to solve a problem is necessary.

More than likely, I would say it is a mixed bag. Just because an organisation is a member of uacc doesn't make them reputable.

There are more than likely several members who are legit but there are also likely those who are probably not.

Don't be fooled into thinking just because someone is a member of a prestigious organisation that this is a security bracket when buying autographs. Adhere to the rules of autograph collecting and make sure you are fully protected.

The problem is, sometimes legit dealers unwittingly sell fakes and then this brings their reputation into question, despite the fact they are legit.

There is a big difference being a uacc member versus being a uacc registered dealer. Still, common sense still is called for. Collect what you know and know what you collect.

Thanks everyone for your info. Anyone else here on the forum willing to share their opinion?

John...I've recently posted a new thread entitled...UACC dealer sells bogus Elvis on Ebay. What can we do ??...  Find it and read it and then please talk to me about it.

I'm hoping some of the UACC brass on here will get involved  as well, as they have in this thread...

Any other opinions I want to get this b4 the holidays

Well, many of my best and most stunning mistakes were made due to haste.

I don't know what more you want to hear here? If you aren't comfortable, don't do it...whatever it is.

Eric

I'm in no rush I just want to try to get the opinions of more members

Most, if not all, of the bad UACC Registered Dealers have been weeded out. The Internet makes it much easier to view the items they are selling and this site helps a lot as well. Doing business with a Register Dealer is a safe bet if you ever need to get your money back. Regular members can be a different story. Treat me as any other unknown quantity. The best bet, if you are not sure, post the item here and you should be a good quick opinion on item's possible authenticity.

I'm a vintage Hollywood guy and don't know sports at all. Hopefully someone here will take a look. They are a Registered Dealer in good standing though.

Didn't someone just post that or ask about it in another thread?

I just saw this SP in the last day or so.

Eric
