I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998.  Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia.  For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph.  I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998.  My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams.  I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

Thanks Steve.

All set. This discussion is now part of it. I also put Pete's Harrison Ford forgery discussion in it, even tho they're not just Star Wars photos.

There's a link under the Forums tab on the navigation bar and one front and center on the homepage.

I can move any other Star Wars discussions there, too. Can't move blogs tho.

Mike, thanks for keeping this discussion active and valuable since 2012! You're a great moderator.

Ford Signing

I have not followed much of this thread so sorry if this is a repeat. I read there is a signing in January and thought some of you would like to keep up with it.

It's been pushed back, they haven't announced a new date yet.

How much do you think Daisy Ridley will be worth in 2020? And on what items?

That is entirely up to Daisy and her management team. If she plays the Natalie Portman card and only signs for charities, she will keep her signature at a high value. She can sign a contract with a major autograph agent and sign at select shows for whatever fee she sets, or she can start popping up everywhere and sign until she floods the market.

Star Wars isn't going anywhere and she seems to be poised to play a major role in this new trilogy.

She is, in essence, the Mark Hamill of this new series. Star Wars autograph collectors will want to, or have to add her to their collections, and the newbies are quite happy to buy these $30-$50 fakes on ebay.

Keep in mind that her signature in 2 signing chances in a week, went from Daisy Ridley to just Daisy. It took Harrison Ford a decade or more to alter & shorten his signature.

Unless an autograph agent can talk her into signing her full name on future pieces, those 40 or so pieces she signed in July of 2015 will likely remain the cream of the crop and the top value pieces. Even if she signs full name signatures in the future, I believe the earliest pieces will indeed differ enough, that they can be told apart from any later attempts.

Full signatures on Star Wars items will be the money shots in 2020 and beyond.

Word is spreading around that Daisy will be doing a signing. The company/person who has signed her is an unknown factor, but it seems that PSA DNA will be present.

Prices range from $300 for an 8x10 up to $600 for larger multi signed pieces and posters.

Hopefully we will hear something from someone who has more info, very soon.

I would hope the contract stipulates "full name" signatures!

The signature will be full name.
