I'm hoping someone can give me some quick advice.  I currently have a few signed posters which have been put in frames several years ago.  Unfortunately, they were not matted - they were simply put into basic frames.  The signatures still look perfect and the posters look great on the wall.  My only question is: would it be worth trying to remove them to frame them properly?  i.e. so that the signatures aren't touching the glass.  I'm a bit nervous to do this but maybe it's worth it for longevity?  If I have no intention on ever selling them or taking them off my wall anytime soon, maybe it's best to just leave them as-is?

I would if I were you. It shouldn't really get damaged when removing it from the frame, what's the item? Just try to pick out a frame you like as its best not to change the frame too.

I would be very careful if the signatures are in silver, gold or paint pen. Chances that the signatures come off the poster and stick to the glass are possible, even probable in areas with changing temperatures throughout the year.

It makes me wonder if I would be better off just leaving them as-is.  If I have no intentions on selling them or having them valued, maybe I should just enjoy them in their current frames.  I would be pretty upset if I tried removing them and having the signatures ruined.

Leave them be, and enjoy them, but understand that the results will only be worse later if you ever do choose to sell them.

If you have archival glass or plexi it shouldn't be an issue, but you want to make sure they are living in a climate controlled environment to avoid condensation and sticking.

I frame all of my posters in archival poster frames from hollywoodposterframes.com and I've never had an issue removing and selling posters years down the road.

Sorry, must have read past the poster part. I'd leave it like everyone else says.
