I sat across from Ali on a flight from New York to Los Angeles in about 1980. Happy to report he was very friendly and I got a nice autograph, too! It was an interesting flight because a ceiling panel directly above Ali's head fell down and I took a photo of him looking up curiously at the cables that go out to the wings of the aircraft. The flight attendant walked up to me and said "What are you going to do it that photo?" And I said "nothing."

Really nice, Jim. Thanks for sharing. From everything I've read about him, he seemed like a nice guy. It's great to see someone with such a huge talent also be so down to earth as well.
