Here's a new one - well, sort of. That is, if you're not a big U2 fan and familiar with this guy's antics. One of the most notorious U2 "fans," who also happens to be a Bono impersonator, caused a bit of a commotion yesterday evening by parading around the general admission area (before reportedly being kicked out), posing as the Irish band's lead singer. A number of unknowing fans bought it, and he not only took photos with them but even had the nerve to sign autographs. Sadly, some people really bought into this and are even selling their "Bono autograph" on Ebay. I guess this is a rare instance in which a forger is quite literally caught in the act, though the motive is decidedly different.

Side note: Scouting report is that Bono (the real one) and Edge, and to an extent Adam, continue to be good to fans and collectors on this tour. Not a surprise.

At least his "autograph" is easy to spot as a forgery.

A number of fans have already tried to explain that to the seller.

I saw that one on eBay and thought to myself "What the hell happened here?"

To quote Metallica: Sad, but true...

These people need their eyes checked... the guy bears a "passing resemblance" to Bono... not even close to a near identical look alike.
