No doubt this is fake, I mean besides being childish it is clearly signed with a silver sharpie which did not even exist until after Kurt's death. Let save some poor guy $600 dollars (so far) and report the crap out of this item and get it removed!!!! It ends on 4 days.

i am actually surprised this got a cert from GA I didn't think they were this bad..

While I do agree fully that this is very unlikely to be authentic (after that signed paul mccarteny baseball I can only say 99% that it is no good) But in the intrest of playing devils advocate the silver alone isn't enough to call it fake there were silver paint markers in his life time and I have seen a photo somewhere of kurt signing a leather jacket with one.

Wow, this is one bad set of fakes being sold by ebay seller thebestfloorcare . But no surprise GA authenticated it, and easily explained. This was authenticated by staff member #2,105. He has been given a stern talking too, so no big deal.

I think its funny how the seller made a special paragraph at the bottom to address all the complaints he is getting that the item is fake. He even seems proud to say it has been authenticated by GA, and Piece of the Past.  Piece of the Past, what can you say about them, that hasnt been exposed here already.

I cant believe ebay hasnt yanked this by now, check it out:

Ebay seller, thebestfloorcare, should really be ashamed. Obviously he has been getting lots of comments concerned about the authenticity, proven by the paragraph he wrote and added to the description concerning this. Its obvious he is getting told its fake, so why wouldnt he take it down until he could get other opinions. Or research Piece of the Past on google for 5 minutes.

compare it and shut up

SAME SIGNATURES EXPERTS!!!

I take it you are ignoring the PSA quick opinion dare for a reason? Go ahead and get a quick opinion you been offered 5 grand if it passes. So go ahead shut us up. We will be waiting right here. The only thing devaluing your forgery is that GA sticker so stop blaming others. Go compare any 2 signatures one by PSA and one by GA / GAI and check out the difference in price. Did we also ruin those? Stop grasping at straws and shut us up.

Funny you just said no one can compare it from a picture....I guess that only applies to people telling you its a fake? But yet you can do it??? Any how once again you been dared big boy to used PSA quick opinion. It usually takes a few days, I will put in the good work for you to fast track that. So go right ahead and submit your ebay auction. We will be waiting for the screen shot to shut us up.

The promo photo above is from the same seller that are selling this fake Red Hot Chili Peppers photo. So I wouldn't trust them too much. I have seen the promo photo before and it have been discussed and deemed as a fake too. So I understand that those autographs match up with the autographs on your guitar.

Blind leading the blind!!! :D

I hope you realize thebest, that that photo is a fake as well. lol.

look, im not trying to pick on you, and thats the truth. I wouldnt care if that guitar was certed by PSA, its still a fake. And this is something you can verify with little effort. And i will step back and try and be as professional as i can, and not be sarcastic.

Here is what you should do if you are truly concerned about the well being of the item, and that you dont want to sell a fake.

1.) Research Piece of the past, which is where the item came from. You can search this site, or google them. There is some amazingly detailed info out there on them, and stories of people who have fought them tooth and nail to get refunds for forgeries they were sold.

2.) Research GA. GA is better in my opinion than GAI, and Steve Sipe does know some autographs very well. In fact, i recommend GA for certain autographs. I can only say i recommend them for one genre, and that is Nascar. The reason, is that the guy who authenticates Nascar through them, Brandon Mysinger, is one of the best Nascar experts out there. He is top notch. But GA screwed up here.

3.) Take the guitar out the case and examine it very thoroughly. Take the pickguard off, and look for a serial number on the back. I have seen some with them, some without. If it has one, or other discernable features on the back, write them down, along with the make and model of the guitar in the display, and contact the manufacturer to see if you can run down when that batch of pickguard was made. If it was made after Cobains death, case closed, and we can try and help you get a refund from the seller who sold it to you.

4.) Write down the make and model of the guitar, and its serial number. And find out when it was made. Pickguards are often mounted on nonspecific guitars, so it may be manufactured after Cobains death. If so, thats not a dead give away b/c the pickguard could have been applied to the guitar at a later date. But its a piece of info. Also research the model fo the guitar and what the guitar is worth by itself (no sigs). Most of the time guitars like this, are within the 80 to 300 dollar range. Most would never mount a pickguard on a very high caliber guitar, b/c they want to play the guitar if its that valuable. Thats from a guitar players perspective.

6.) Next, take some up close photos of the signatures, and ask some non involved parties about what medium the signatures were penned by. I am almost positive they were done in silver sharpie. If thats the case. they cant be real, as sharpies were not around then in silver. Paint pen and silver sharpie are pretty easily detectable, and it will be fairly obvious to a trained eye. I would suggest asking Roger Epperson, Michael Frost, or any respected authenticator who doesnt have a vest in the autographs. No need to ask if the item is genuine, just ask what the medium of writing was.

7.) I think youll find after all that that the signatures are not authentic. And thats without a breakdown of whats wrong with each sig, which i can also give you, as i do have some Nirvana knowledge. This site can help you get a refund yourself. But your behavior so far has been textbook of what we see day in and day out of an ebay seller who knows he has a forgery and wants to sell it anyways. Prove us wrong and do the right thing. Do more research on it, and let us know what you find

WTG GA and Steve Sipe. You guys might be passing up AAU and Drew Max on the who sucks worst list.

I think those bidders don't care about which company authenticated this. In their opinion "authenticated"= "genuine". And this guitar has been authenticated by 2 companies. That means it's "super genuine". I'm pretty sure they don't know the differences between GA, Drew Max, JSA and PSA/DNA.

Guys, check out the item description. The seller states:

"

This is one of the rare things i Owen, Signed by ALL nirvana members including Kurt Cobain R.I.P.

Can you even pay for ebay purchases via an initial deposit?? Also, nice policy about no returns on "this baby". This guys obviously knows what he is selling is at best questionable. Even though its a blatant fake.
Here are his comments about the concerns about authenticity he has been getting:
"On Mar-26-14 at 04:43:01 PDT, seller added the following information:

Typical ebay auction setup that we have all seen before. What a shame. Also notice the sellers horrible grammar. Typical of what we have all been seeing lately.

I have contacted the seller. He does not care if it is a fake!! I even refer him to this site but he don't give a damn. Just hope they take down the auction before it ends!! Or someone is gonna out of some hard earned $$$$$.
