So like everyone else under the sun right now I too am trying to get an autographed photo of Leonard Nimoy and it's proving difficult to try and weed out the fakes. Currently I'm looking at bidding on one of two auctions on ebay. Both have JSA certs and I've heard good and bad stories about JSA. The seller account name is livmemorabilia and here are links to the two auctions. Auction 1 and Auction 2. there is only about 2hrs 30min left on each auction so time is sort of limited here. I've also attached a copy of the photos Auction1  Auction2

Can someone please help me try and confirm if these are fake or real. And if anyone has any info where I can buy autographed photos that are for sure real and not have to deal with hoping the ebayer is legit would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

I wouldn't touch either.

Now is not the time to be buying any Nimoy autograph. Give it 6 months to a year and you will get the right graph on the right piece....at the right price.

Trust me, Leonard signed enough material in the past 40+ years that they will never ever be rare, and they will never run out.

Can you give me an ideal situation where you would pull the trigger and buy. Fore example if an item is PSA/DNA certified and the seller has 2500+ feedback all positive would you buy then? If ebay is a poor place to shop for this item then where would you look. I'm in Seattle and there doesn't seem to be many local options which is why I've been cruising ebay. One other thing, I was also thinking about purchasing a Nimoy / Shatner photo with both autos on it.

Thanks a bunch.

You are doing the right thing ....asking here.

Ebay will indeed be the likely place to find the item that you want, but jumping into anything the week he passed is when you will pay through the nose for it.

Feedback on ebay only means that the seller delivered the item that you purchased, it doesn't mean a damn thing when you are thinking about authenticity.

Creation still runs Trek shows and they have for decades. They may be a place to check for a good Nimoy, there are other long time trustworthy autograph dealers to watch as well.

Just don't jump into anything blindly and don't rush to just get one.

Still, how to I verify if it is indeed real?

If it is already authenticated by PSA DNA, especially any piece that has been authenticated as "Signed In the Pressence of' PSA or JSA.

Other than that ...ask here.

Anything that came from Creation Entertainment (official Star Trek cons) would be a good bet.  It didn't seem like they had many up for sale online the past few years, I assume in part because Nimoy had retired from convention appearances.

This is the absolute worst time to buy a Nimoy. You have waited this long, why not wait a few more months when the price settles down? As Pete stated, Nimoy signed a ton of autographs and they will always be in good supply.

You've been given very solid advice from the people here.  His signature are commanding death premiums right now. It's normal when a celebrity dies to see their signatures shoot up in value and come down again a few months later.  The autographs you posted are authentic in my opinion. I have studied this mans autographs for a while and I have made a post showing examples of his autograph over the years in a thread (town square).  But seriously, save some money and wait this one out.

Agree with Steve, you will pay so over the odds right now for a Nimoy. Give it 2-3 months and prices will fall

What would be a reasonable price for the following

Signed Nimoy 8x10

Signed Nimoy 11x14

Signed Nimoy / Shatner 8x10

Signed Nimoy / Shatner 11x14

I really appreciate the advice from everyone thanks.

Nimoy Shatner combos averaged about $75 for an 8x10 the week before he passed.

11x14 usually brings a premium, seller who have them wanted more for them before he passed and they will want even more now.

Nimoy 8x10 average price was under $50 ....it won't go below $75 for a few years.

Shatner charges $80 to get it in person and Nimoy was charging right at $150 a couple of months before he died.  so that being said.  I say anything under $200 on an authentic 8 x10 is a great price any day of the week and now with Nimoy passing, I would say the price is more.  And yes its spiking right now.  I still think any authentic Star Trek piece is a good investment and should hold its value.
