Introduction to Using Autograph Live

Welcome to Autograph Live!

Authenticity is Everything in autographs. Since 2009, Autograph Live members have helped each other authenticate autographs and build great collections, big and small.

Whether you just want to stop by for opinions before you buy or sell, or you want to learn as much as you can about autographs, make friends, and keep up with what’s going on in the field, you’re welcome here!

Using Autograph Live is easier than it looks

Spend a little time learning about the site and it will be a breeze to use.

There are 4 sections of the site:

  • Discussion Forums: The most active part of the site and where you'll want to start. Post autographs for authenticity opinions, and discuss other autograph topics.
  • Blogs: Blog posts are like articles and columns and often great reads.
  • Photos: You can post photos of your collection here to share with other members.
  • Groups: Groups are where member of similar interests or locations get together.

Discussion Forums: Are the most popular part of the site. A few are general, like Is This Autograph Real?, where you can post any autograph for opinions; and Town Square, where people talk about happenings and Autograph Live. Most are special interest, covering a specific topic or personality.d

There are 4 categories of special interest forums:

  • Music: 33 forums, including The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Taylor Swift, and Musician-Direct Autograph Sales.
  • Sports: 15 forums, including a Mantle, Williams & DiMaggio forum, Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali & Boxing, and Tom Brady.
  • History: 9 forums, including Space & Aviation, JFK, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump.
  • Hollywood: 15 forums, including Star Wars, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Al Pacino.

Each category has a button on the navbar to take you to its list of special interest forums. There's a search bar at the top of each forum to narrow down what you're looking for, like an album, jersey, movie, or document.

If you don't see one for the topic you're looking for, use the general forum for the category at the bottom.

Want to post a discussion and ask a question, like authenticity? Watch this video to see how to post one properly:

https://live.autographmagazine.com/video/autograph-live-it-s-easy-to-post-discussions-with-photos

As the video shows, photos using the image button on the toolbar so they're visible with the text:

Post large, sharp photos. Small or mushy photos one can't be reliably authenticated. Contact me, Steve Cyrkin, if you need help.

Make sure the discussion title says specifically what the item is, like "Mickey Mantle signed baseball," and it's spelled right. Avoid slang, like "auto" for "autograph." These rules makes it easy for members and search engines to find your discussion. If you say "Lincoln auto," for example, Google will often think it's about cars.

Blogs: Bloggers are like columnists, and approved by me, Steve Cyrkin, before they can post. If you're interested in writing blog posts, send me a message, tell me what you want to write about and how often.

Photos: Photos are mostly in forum discussions, but if you want to share your collection, they're great! Be sure to write a title for each post.

Groups: Groups aren't used much right now. The forums are more popular. There's a lot of information to read in them, but you'll get more action posting in a forum.

Read How to get the most from Autograph Live for more tips and info.

That's enough to get you started. Feel free ask in Town Square or message me if you need help in any way.

Thanks for joining! Members and I look forward to getting to know you.

@Rich: Based on some cursory research, the first "Why So Serious?" poster came out around Dec. 2007, and Ledger died in mid-Jan. 2008. Not completely out of the realm of possibility, but I'd still be skeptical nonetheless.

Did the cast ever do any major group signings?

Comment by Rich on June 15, 2021 at 11:49am

I'm pretty sure Ledger would have been dead before he could have signed that poster. Ledger signed Batman items are extremely rare as there were only a couple images available before his death.

Hey there, Im new to this world. I have been blessed with a authenticated Dark Knight Poster featuring the main cast's signatures and Heath's Ledger's signature. Authenticated by Nathan's Autograph's Inc. circa 2008. Poster is behind glass approx. 37" x 47" tears in the brown paper on the back side. I am wondering the value of this piece? Many thanks! Charlotte

I got these tyson/holyfield gloves.  If they both have the same SKU # does that mean I’m holding fake signed gloves?

Greetings:

Looking at this BB on an auction.  The signature and the ball just looks TOO clean.  Maybe I'm just paranoid???  Any opinions on this item would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Sam

Is there a trading section?

Comment by Our_kid on August 11, 2020 at 10:34am

Hi, I believe these signatures to be authentic and not repro. Would you guys mind taking a look for me please as it’s time to sell. If you could help me out with how much you think it’s worth I’d really appreciate that too.

Peter,

I'm sorry to say that your Hard Day's Night album is definitely not real in my opinion.

Comment by Peter CAREY on August 9, 2020 at 10:59pm

I bought this Hard Days Night Album from Perth's (Western Australia) most well known auction House on 6 June 2002. It was originally put up for auction by the original owner on 03 August 1989 to raise funds to return to Scotland for his mother's funeral. It was signed by the Fab 4 at the Odeon Theatre in Renfield Road, Glasgow at the Beatles final gig on 3 December 1965. It was handed to them by the Manager who was the neighbor of the original owner. Statuary Declaration signed by the original owner and witnessed by Commissioner of The Supreme Court of Western Australia on 25 September 1989, just prior to the auction. I am 64 years old now and it is time to sell. Simply wondering if anyone has an opinion on it's value? Cheers...Peter
