I appreciate all the responses. All of this made me so ill I took a day or two away from my computer to collect myself. I kinda knew where this was heading after the quick responses from Toby and this forum really reaching out to me..hopefully there are some steps we can take to get my money back. I was not sure what to expect when I started this post, but I am glad I did to get all of this feedback that is fact based (even if it is not what I wanted to hear) and not a bunch of hate/fear driven feedback and posts.

Thanks,

Jared
Yeah, he thought the AAFES br…tag:live.autographmagazine.com,2019-02-11:3524372:Comment:13135602019-02-11T08:51:38.074ZRick Meyerhttps://live.autographmagazine.com/profile/RickMeyer

Yeah, he thought the AAFES brand and his forensic document examiner explanation. Same one Toby Stiffa uses would be enough. They must have a night school for those type of dealers to teach them all the same thing.

Thanks, Rick.

That John House invited you to his facility and gave you free range is an indication of what pushovers he must have thought soldiers were.

House claimed that they were from tractor trailer truckloads of signed photos purchased out of the bankruptcy of Scoreboard back in the 1990s. Not only did Ken Goldin, who's dad owned Scoreboard, tell us that there were virtually no Mantles left when they went BK. Ken connected me with their printer, who told me that Scoreboard didn't buy inkjet photos from them. So House's story was impossible right there.

But wait, there's more. The photos that Always At Auction used were signed on were desktop-type inkjet printed photos, not commercial ones, which didn't come out until August or September 1995. Mickey Mantle died in August 1995 and was dying an agonizing death from cancer. He hadn't signed for months before his death. Some of these photos we found were signed on paper that didn't exist until 2004 or later.

You'd think a forensic document examiner's "scientific methods" would include determining if the autograph could have been signed on the photo it was signed on.

How many thousands of soldiers, veterans and their families were victimized by House and his authenticators? I remember the heartbreaking story of a soldier stationed in Afghanistan who was a member here. He'd go out on patrol, where any day he could lose a leg or his life.

He'd use the Military Exchange credit card that he was given to buy autographs at auction to relieve fear and stress, calm down, and someday make money on them because the autographs were represented as being sold at special bargain prices for soldiers. The day he found out he was sold nothing but forgeries capped a week where the guard tower he was stationed in was blown out from under him. Autographs "authenticated" by AAU, TTA, Christopher Morales and others of similar ilk.

No chance this is authentic. I’ve seen a lot of the mob folks and Howard Hughes autographed they have. Toby Stoffa is a lying crook. She has never owned an authentic autograph of any of these people. She is a con artist who has fast talking sales people who will do anything for a buck. Her only place in the autograph world is to rip people off. Somebody needs to put her and Drew Max in jail where they both belong.

Sure Steve,

Back in early 2011 prior to being a member here I saw a company selling autographs through the military exchange. Company was named Always At Auction at the time. Majority were classic baseball. Mantles, DiMaggios, Williams, Koufax, Mays, Mohammed Ali’s etc. after looking at these auctions I knew these were forgeries. All came with COA’s. Mantles, DiMaggios, Williams, Koufax, Mays, Mohammed Ali’s etc. after looking at these auctions I knew these were forgeries. All came with COA’s. I wrote the AAFES customer service and HQs about these asking how they could let this company rip op service members with these horribly forgeries.

The very next morning I got a call from the owner of the auction name John House who tried his best to act as a customer service rep and went through tall these authenticators and that I must be mistaken. I kept on him that they were forgeries and he got mad and said things like anybody can say these things over the internet blah, blah, blah. Told him I would say it to his face just the same. He offered to buy me a ticket to do it. I accepted. He actually bought one and I flew out there to tell him.

once I got there I told him I thought everything he sold was a forgery. He took me into a sloppy warehouse where there was probably between 100,000-200,000 forgeries. Most 5x7 and 8x10’s. All inkjet printed photos. The floor was strewn with some of these as well as thousands of coa’s from STAT, TTA, AAU some Burczyk white labels, there where also sheets of stickers that matched the coa’s that had to be affixed to the photos. The warehouse was nothing like I had ever seen. I was shocked to the large operation they had. John continually tried to convince me these were authentic with the Scoreboard inventory stories and trailers being bought during their bankruptcy. He tried hard to get me to buy off on this and endorse these items making references like he would put me on the payroll or give me free items that I could sell in my own etc. I told him I wasn’t interested and didn’t want a single thing from this warehouse and that he was the one being fooled. All the junk was fake just like I said in my email. After a while if this and his not being able to convince me he was ready for me to leave. Told him to call me a cab and I will head back to AZ. Which I did. Then I found this site and told Steve Cyrkin all about it. I continued pestering AAFES and those who I saw buying this stuff letting them know they were cheated.
please contact the mall direc…tag:live.autographmagazine.com,2019-02-11:3524372:Comment:13137722019-02-11T01:44:21.673Zmarc ehttps://live.autographmagazine.com/profile/johnshaw
