its also not that easy to get a refund if the auction house is going to dispute it even if you use chargeback so I also feel for the buyer, - that is a lot of money. Going off tanget a bit what browser are people using to look at the photos posted. I use firefox and since last week can no longer open or view the photo posted, - same with other images on aml

It was "authenticated by Roger Epperson" and I believe buyers and auction houses will see this as sufficient to get top dollar. Another item in the Ewbank sale has Roger suggesting the Paul was not genuine, the 5,000 guide price (nuts) just flopped.

So they pay $15 or whatever for a Quick Opinion and then say it has been authenticated, and then someone paid that amount for a set with a secretarial version of the most desirable autograph? Brutal.

It’s a tough situation. How can they take responsibility if they don’t know that the Lennon is secretarial and it was sold on the basis of the LOA, which states that it’s a full set? By the time the buyer figures out what they have, the consignor likely will have already been paid.

The auction houses have to take more responsibility on these sort of items, this was not signed by john but was described as it was, they also sold a very bad fake Ringo today, I know it’s not their item but they are selling it and should be held accountable, they’re happy to take the money but give nothing back, not just this auction house, loads of them do it ....rant over !
