Here's a Chaplin piece accompanied by it's original mailing envelope from the time of LIMELIGHT in 1952.  Looks to be black fountain pen ink.  Opinions?

It appears authentic.

I believe his sig to be more jagged and square and the distance between the letters more narrow. But I'm no expert on Chaplin.

KaiMi - I do see what you are saying here about the more typical jagged nature of his signature.  Thanks for your thoughts!

Who is selling this item?

It's a small bookstore/record shop in London that has it along with Chaplin books and other memorabilia. All of it is from the estate of a Chaplin collector.  They don't seem to usually deal in autographs.   I just got a photo of the larger album page that these are affixed to:

And this  is on the verso of the large album page (to the same collector that the Chaplin envelope is addressed to):

If the price is right and ticks all the boxes it’s definitely a keeper.

Looks good to me and from that period. The Best Wishes is completely all Chaplin and the characteristics of the signature are intact enough for me to render the authentic opinion. Chaplin by this time was about to be forced in exile to Europe and wasn’t as popular as he was in the first half of the century so more authentic examples exist post 1952.

Thank for looking you guys!
