Stumbled across *gasp* another guy selling forgeries on ebay.  He sold a terrible Michael Jackson fake "signed" guitar (and bogus story) just this past week.

And this week, one of the worst U2 forgeries I've seen on what looks to be the exact same type of guitar, and another completely fabricated story to go along with it.

Funny how Larry Mullen, Michael Jackson and Adam Clayton all have identical handwriting!

I contacted the seller to explain that the stuff he was selling was bogus, but, as expected, no response.  Except that he dropped the price of the U2 guitar from $4000 to $2000.  Fortunately, it looks like this guy hasn't duped a whole lot of people yet, but it will be interesting to see what other "gems" spring up in the coming weeks.

Never ending...  your first one for posterity;

Up for auction, from the private collection of an A-list Hollywood casting director is an autographed Fender Stratocaster autographed by the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson w/ very rare "heart" signature.

Fender Strat was signed in person by Michael Jackson in Las Vegas on August 7, 2002. We've yet to find one like this, most of the King of Pop's autographs are special in some way. Guitar has always been handled by the neck to preserve the finger prints the King of Pop left on the guitar when he held it to sign.

COA included, bid with confidence, this is our second business account and we have 1000+ feedbacks Expedited and fully insured shipping is free to any of the 48 states, international buyers please get in contact for a quote. Winner please await invoice after auction has ended. Thank you!

and the u2 one.  One must wonder where s/he got them from?  Perhaps you should contact the charity with the concerns that is listed.

Welcome to our wonderful music/movie memorabilia collection! All of the items listed come from the collection of a A-list Hollywood movie casting director to make way for incoming collectables.

Here we have a special piece which is sure to be the attention grabber of any collection. A beautiful Fender Stratocaster signed in person backstage at Angels Stadium in Anaheim on June 18, 2011, one of the dates of the last leg of the world famous 360 TOUR.

Our client had backstage access and VIP pass/meet and greet package to meet the band, (as he normally does and is a VIP season ticket holder to most of the major music venues in Southern California and is on a first name basis with the biggest stars in the world), signed by Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton and was witnessed and verified by Brandon Graves of Live Nation.

All proceeds from this auction will be generously donated by our client to the 2014 class of recording engineers at Musician's Institute here in Hollywood in partnership with Steinberg Cubase. Guitar has never been sold and is being offered by the original owner. For more information on the fundraiser please visit the grant page at MI edu website or contact us, sorry ebay prohibits links to other sites in auctions.

I suppose during any given ebay scan, you'll see countless fakes.  But I guess I get specially steamed when there's a full blown lie posted in support of it.  By the way, the backstage access he's talking about for the U2 guitar did exist for just about every 360 show in the US.  It was always quite expensive (and usually obtained through auction only), but it did NOT include a band meet and greet.

I guess I'm left with the question of who is: 1) Brandon Graves of Live Nation and 2) The Lawler Group, LLC?

Boy these are some pitiful forgeries. $510 for a Michael Jackson signed guitar? This is just stupid. He should be banned from ebay for life.

Looks like the auction for the U2 guitar was ended by the seller.

Nice job. Keep the pressure on these scumbags. Unfortunately a couple of the MJ guitars have already sold. Here is a black guitar that sold last month.

Not sure if it's the seller at fault or he's getting duped by someone he trusts.  Either way, sucks for whoever ends up buying this crap.

Seller reposted it with a heavily re-edited description.  At least he nixed some of the blatant lies, but it doesn't make it any less fake.

I wonder how long it will be before he is back under a new name..... This seems to be a never ending battle.

He knew what he was doing and so did ebay apparently.
