Stumbled across *gasp* another guy selling forgeries on ebay. He sold a terrible Michael Jackson fake "signed" guitar (and bogus story) just this past week.

And this week, one of the worst U2 forgeries I've seen on what looks to be the exact same type of guitar, and another completely fabricated story to go along with it.

Funny how Larry Mullen, Michael Jackson and Adam Clayton all have identical handwriting!
I contacted the seller to explain that the stuff he was selling was bogus, but, as expected, no response. Except that he dropped the price of the U2 guitar from $4000 to $2000. Fortunately, it looks like this guy hasn't duped a whole lot of people yet, but it will be interesting to see what other "gems" spring up in the coming weeks.

Yes...you guys did good.
This was certainly an easy one, as the forgeries were incredibly lazy and the story was pretty clearly bogus. The seller certainly called enough attention to his auction, too. I'm glad ebay took action.
This is what your website is all about Steve. I'm proud to be a member.
I was going to say, it would be interesting to see if the Lawler Group makes good on it's guarantee for the Jackson guitar, but I don't think the Lawler Group actually exists.
