Hi

Is this fake or real, owners Uncle met John and Yoko at a book signing at Selfridges in  London 1971.
George Harrington tipped of friend that they were going to be there, is it real?

Not real

It's not real in my opinion. The signature and drawing are wrong. Most obvious in the autograph is that the H is far shorter than the L. When there's a significant difference in height, the L is far shorter than the H. Sometimes the L is just slightly shorter or they're about the same size, but that's it. The L is usually slanted to the right further than the H as well, but these have the same slant.

Lots more and that's before we get to the drawing.

Okay Steve thanks for your opinion.

Signature looks slowly drawn. And from a logic perspective... This was supposedly signed at a public book signing. Is John Lennon going to give a full signature and carefully done caricature at a book signing? Doesn't pass the smell test.

Hi Steve

The owner was personal friend of the Beatles, the Roadie George Harrington who worked

with the Beatles for a number of years and famously held up John’s lyrics during the roof top concert. George tipped off his friend to be at Selfridges and may have also

been there at the time of the signing?

I found this photo on the web whilst at Selfridges book signing.

No good. That was the Grapefruit book signing, I believe the sketch was copied from the one that was done in 1968.

I don't like it. It looks more like the logo than his signature.

Hi Eric

thanks for your response, how do you mean logo?

regards

Ron

Thanks Eric for all your responses.

l do remember seeing this now, very similar, but no specs?

Thank again

Looks slowly written and appears to be about 4 stop and start points throughout.

Terrible...in 1971 at Selfridges...Lennon and Yoko signed the books very quickly...it was a crazy scene...no "self portraits"...as far as I know...
