Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. Stephen Duncan has referred to this as a 'win-win' situation. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Aaaannndd  . . .. they shipped it anyway.

I'm starting a separate thread (in part for Google search visibility) on the Lana and Demi preorders, mostly because they are such huge names and both involve Universal's hand in the matter.

I don't think they care much really. That is shown by attempting this in the first place. It is volume - most will likely be happy with this. I think that is all that matters. Some of the fans may take the email response as...gospel.

They could avoid most of this by offering an "official artists chopmark" aka Yoko or some such stamp limited to the release in question and stopping with the obvious "that is hand signed" lies...

As soon as I asked about authenticity and return policy, I received my shipment email. Long story short - bought 3 for my girls and they are exactly the same... bummer.

Here's the Don Felder poster and the mini guitar is in the corner. Personally I like the poster better. A nice item for fifty bucks. Glad I don't buy the newer artists as much to avoid all the nonsense!

Here's mine that came a day ago.  Nice.

Damn, already emailed them to return this.

Chris Thile (Nickel Creek/Punch Brothers)....."Thanks for Listening" preorder with signed print...

Lee Ann Womack, 10 years, and powerman 5000 added to Newbury
So Luke Bryan has peaked straight away in the not giving fans signed pre orders any more by offering a digitally signed 10x8 as part of a pre order bundle on his official website! At least he's being honest I guess but never seen that before!
Darkness signed items arrrived.
