A local comic/game shop is having a show with Stan Lee.

$25 to attend Q&A (not too bad, given it's not likely to draw a huge crowd)

$100 for autograph
$100 for photo
$325 for two autograph ticketsn one random signature and one random signed book.

I think this is ridiculous, personally. Stan Lee signed so much crap in the 80s/90s when he was living month to month that the market MUST be saturated. After he dies, I can't see long term demand sustaining anything like $100 (2016 dollars) for a signed comic.

And... I certainly can't see a photo session with Lee being worthwhile.

It's likely his last year signing autographs, the man is a legend and always has lines out the door.. Plant his signature on a Spider-Man #1 and it's worth quite a bit more than the $100 fee.

Well, Marvel is very popular at the moment. Lots of younger people who weren't around in the 80s/90s will want to meet him not buy an autograph someone else got.

While I agree that Stan Lee has signed up a storm and the market is saturated, I'd be happy to pay $100 for an opportunity to shake his hand and get an autograph. In my view, he is no less a visionary and cultural icon than Walt Disney.

That said, the $100 fee for a photograph seems a bit much.

At $100 your certainly not getting a bargain from autograph value point of view. But these signing aren't really about the value as much as the opportunity to meet someone in person. It also provides the opportunity get something very specific signed and/or personalized.

I recently paid $60 to have Justin Turner (Dodger's 3rd baseman) sign a photo for my son. His autograph is unlikely to have much future value. But he's one of my son's favorite players and he has the autographed photo and a picture with him and Justin. I could have paid about the same for a signed photo on Ebay with a PSA cert and saved allot of hassle. But the value wasn't the point. It was the smile.

If you just want an autograph, the paid in person signings are rarely a good value.
