I paid by PayPal.

Sometimes you have to buy quickly or you lose. The price was cheap, too cheap! I am glad that I found this site to help clear up what I thought was a pretty good collection. Now I can either keep or at least sort out the bad stuff. I feel this one is solved. Thanks to all. I will be back as Arnold would say.

Most welcome. I am sorry I have to run. Hopefully someone else will try and get your money back to you.

Great! Backed by a CC? I have to go out right now, but perhaps Eddy or someone can advise you on how to get your money back. There is a process. Better yet, start a discussion asking "I Bought a Forgery. How Do I File a Claim with PayPal?" You might come out of this well. :-)

William, I'm afraid this is an outright forgery.  I've traded in McQueen in the past and I've learned it's important to be cautious.  He's very desirable in autographs and is heavily forged.

Here are some exemplars I'd offer for comparison's sake.

First is a very early album page signed for a fan.  The other two are signatures of minutes from his business endeavors in  the early 70's.

sorry william, yours is a fake, also the price you paid is very cheap, far too cheap imo

Yes, it should be two or perhaps three times the $350 paid. Red flag flying. It always best to acquaint yourself with not only the signature (for the particular period), but the value, so you can spot this sort of thing quickly and then just deconstruct the signature if necessary., or the pen, ink or paper etc. Someone one last week believed they bought a signed item for $500 when the signature alone on a slip of paper is about $2K.  Had he looked before buying, he might have realized something was amiss and looked deeper, perhaps avoiding the whole mess.

One can, of course, find times when the autograph is authentic and the seller uninformed, and you can get things at great prices, but care and caution is needed. This was $49 on eBay raw. I sold it for $850.

That McQueen is definitely not real in my opinion, sorry.

Before you file your claim William, get a quick opin from JSA/PSA etc  on the item as  hopefully they will say it is not genuine. You  may  need this info to win your paypal claim if the seller disputes the fact that the McQueen is fake
