Not sure if this is where I should post this or not, but I do have a lot of autographed Nascar trading cards that were obtained in person at Michigan Speedway in the early to mid-90's. I'm open to…Continue

That's awesome Alex.  The 500 is on my bucket list.  I go to the Indy car race at Road America and it's great for autographs.  All the drivers have to attend the scheduled autograph sessions, plus at Road America you can go into the paddock area and be right behind the pits - which is great for getting sigs.  Many of the past greats will show up down there too.  Montoya was the only driver to refuse an autograph request from anyone outside of the autograph session.  I'll let you know how goes this year - the race is in late June.

I got back from the Indy 500 signing and I did great!!! 18 guests--11 550 winners and 7 HOF inductees:

First the Hall of Famers:

IndyCar owner Chip Ganassi--signed handout
IMS historian Donald Davidson--signed handout
Indy 500 veteran Paul Goldsmith, safety innovator Bill Simpson, former Goodyear racing director Leo Mehl, engine builder Louis Meyer Jr., former chief mechanics Jim McGee and Phil Casey--signed photo of the Speedway.

And now the 11 winners:

Arie Luyendyk--signed Firestone poster
Dario Franchitti--signed 2012 Indy 500 program, signed copy of his Romance of Racing book, and the poster
Mario Andretti--signed photo, signed poster
Rick Mears--signed photo, signed poster
Al Unser, Jr.--signed poster
Bobby Unser--signed poster
Bobby Rahal--signed poster, signed handout
Juan Pablo Montoya--signed handout, signed poster
Parnelli Jones--signed poster
Kenny Brack--signed poster, and
Johnny Rutherford--signed poster.

After seeing the AJ Foyt exhibit, I was going out the door for the day when Ryan Hunter-Reay and his family was walking in. Two minutes later, I had Ryan's autograph on the poster. Now you can make it 12 winners representing 24 wins in the 500 on the poster.

You all need to go to Indy in May for the 500. It may not be your cup of tea, but the chase for great autographs of some of the greatest drivers ever is nonstop.

I got some good news last week--my name got picked for the IMS Museum signings this Thursday morning. I have no idea who is signing but the guests will either be from the Auto Racing Hall of Fame based in Indy or a past Indy 500 champion. I will give out a full report after the event along with my haul from the Indy Grand Prix two weeks ago.

I've never had any luck getting Tony to sign at a NASCAR track unless it was an organized signing and then only 1 item.  The two times I've gotten him at either a sprint car or midget event he has been much more gracious and signed multiple items.  It must be the rain because both events had rain delays.  We'll see what he does in a couple of weeks at the make up event - I'm guessing he'll head straight to his motorhome.

oh I know Tim Jimmie and Jr are good at signing stuff. Some others not so much. I remember one guy telling me if you get tony away from the track (ie work) he will sign but I guess the only times I could try and get him is at the track then what's the point. If your going to blow the fans off then I say tiss off Tony. I wonder since Jr said I'm done I wonder how many people are going to want his autograph even more now. I remember 2 years ago at pocono Jr came up signed for us as he was walking to the back of the victory circle area to do drivers intro and some guy screaming Jr Jr. Told him dude he's passed us and he's not coming back just to sign for you. I'll try and post any luck I have from pocono since the first one they are moving the drivers intro out onto the track so we shall see what they are doing. sucks for the folks who purchased the victory circle tickets and no drivers are coming out from there. hope they keep the second one the old way.

Good one Michael....he must be in my neighborhood, it's raining.....

I got him once at a signing at an Ashland Home Depot, thats it...he's told me to "go to an autograph signing" before...i once approached him at a Denny Hamlin Charity race in richmond....i paid to be there, a healthy donation for charity...ran into some wonderful and willing signers in the pit area...even Danica signed...but Mr Stewart refused to acknowledge the 4 or so people who patiently waited for him...I am over it now, i just don't carry anything for him...he went by me at richmond a few weeks back....i didn't even flinch...i went on about my business of waiting for Jimmie and Dale Jr., who i might add, graciously signed for everyone who was outside their trailers...

No wonder its raining outside. Tony stewart actually signed for you. My god hell must have frozen over. I guess since your not running the cup series anymore I guess he now has time for the fans. Good job Bill. I know tony came to our local track But, he didn't sign anything for anybody a couple of years ago. I guess he didn't have the time for the little people like he has now. sorry but that is my opinion about him. I know he supposedly was doing a ticket deal at some track that allowed you a autograph from him. Nice he signed for you especially more then 1 item like what happened to me and the wife a couple of years ago when he had office dept as his sponsor. I know he loved to dart into the drivers meeting at the last min so he could tell folks sorry I have to make the meeting and not sign. I'm hoping to get the cold passes for dover and see but I won't hold my breath that much.

Nice Bill !!!  I have just never had any real luck with Tony....i no longer carry anything for him...i have seen him be rude to all shapes and sizes....personally, i don't care if he blows me off, i'm old and if you don't want to sign, no big deal...but he's often rude to ladies and kids...not my favorite driver so i don't have much for him...

Tony Stewart and Rico Abreu came to town for the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car races tonight.  The best part is the rains came and cancelled the show after hot laps, so Tony will be back again in a couple of weeks for the make up event.
