If collecting by mail is one of your passions, this is your group! Share tips, experiences and current successful mailing addresses. But don't share home addresses unless you're sure the celebrity wants to receive mail there.
Thanks Russ! I would try him again anyway. Congrats on your win of bj thomas auto win from listia. He was in fort wayne a couple weeks ago for a concert but i did not go. I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend!
After a nice long weekend, including 2 days of no mail, its nice to be able to post a new success today. I recieved a nice signed picture from singer Brianna Walton from a Listia auction that I won!
I got autographs ttm from joe maddelena of the scfy series hollywood treasures and actress claudia christian thanks to russ robinson for the address for claudia christian. i also got autograph that i can seem to make out. An awsome way to finish the month out!
I got a nice handful of autographs in the old mailbox today. Listia wins featuring signed cards of David Nied, Pat Listach, Chad Curtis, Lee Daniels, and Todd Belitz! I also got some ttm success from Don Kelly of the Detroit Tigers, Mike Goldberg from UFC, and Walter Koenig from Star Trek!
just wanted tolet everyone know that as of the 27th of june i will be off the air for a few days, maybe more, it depends on how well the surgery goes and how fast i recover. i will get back in as quickly as i can and hopefully with many tth successes.
I got a couple of ttms today in my mailbox and a couple of great flea market finds to tell you about today! First the ttms: Karen Allen signed 2 DonRuss Americana cards for me in 24 days! Karen Allen Fiber Arts 8 Railroad St. Great Barrington, MA 01230 I also received 1 of 2 signed cards from Susan Lucci. I'm a little bummed out about this one. The cards came back in a paperclip! It totally ruined my cards! This one has been gone since 2008! 937 days! This is the address that was on the return envelope (not my sase): Susan Lucci Entertainment 107 7th St. GC,NY 11530 I also picked up a couple of sweet autographs at a flea market today. I got a real nice framed and matted 1978 Sporting News cover signed by Butch Lee and a signed 8x10 of Hall of Famer Eddie Matthews! I only paid $25 for both because the guy said that he had been out in the heat since 9 a.m. and wanted to sell something today! Sweet deal!
Anyone have address for Pete Rose? Also, does he sign baseballs ttm and does he want a $30 donation or something like that? I heard only signs if there is a donation for his charity.
Finally! After re-starting up my wife autograph collection after 8 years, I received my first two this week. I received TTM a personalized autograph from BJ Thomas (musician). In addition, I received a personalized autograph from Barbra Streisand along with a special gift for my wife signed also.
As I stated in my original blog, I started collecting autographs for my wife's 40th birthday 8 years ago. I received oer 25o autographs in 2 years leading up to her birthday. Now after 8 years off, I am collecting again for her 50th. It was very touching to receive a gift from Barbra for my wife, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last August.
I'm sorry but I was being sarcastic. From personal experience, Pete Rose does nothing unless it benefits Pete Rose. Years ago he made an appearance at a mall store called Sports Collectables and he placed limitations on what he would or would not sign. He would only sign only certain merchandise bought from the store at the time of his experience.
I personally will not pay for an autograph if it goes directly into the pocket of the celebrity.
In contrast, try contacting Roman Gabriel (LA Rams, Phila Eagles QB) or a former QB for the old St Louis Cardinals by the name of Hart (I forget his first name) they will autograph through the mail and THEN ask you to contribute to a specific charity in any amount you can afford.
Two other items - save your postage if you want to Yogi Berra's autograph. He will use your return envelope and postage to send you a price list of items for sale and probablywith an auto pen signing.
I know all this from personal experience and post retirement employment with several professional sport teams.
thanks for the well wishes guys, just wanted to check in with my peeps to see how everyone is doing, have sent out a great number of email request lately. and have been told dfrom several that the autos are in the mail so i should soon a good number of autographs.two days ago i received one in the mail from the blue ginger resturant. i sent an email to them asking for help getting Ming Tsai's autograph. he is a chinese host of one of my favorite cooking shows on pbs, i received and email saying sure and recieved the picture personalized and signed to me on saturday, very nice.
I got a sweet Listia win today! First, I won a signed hero card of the late Bobby Hamilton. I also won a lot of signed hero card of Kevin Harvick, Kenny Wallce,Ward Burton, Richard Petty, and Ryan Newman! I did get a R.T.S. from Ken Anderson, formerly of the Bengals. Address used: Ken Anderson 1707 Waterleaf Dr. Sewickley, PA 15143
I received 5 pictures from David Frankam TTM today. Amazing! What a nice person! He was in the Star Trek episode "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" I also received my 2 pics back autographed by Rosamund Pike. It took quite a while for that one.
Added two more personalized autographs for my wifes 50th. Today I received Paula Deen (her cooking favorite) and General Tommy Franks. Mr. Franks also personalized a photo for my son Jimmy, who is a Marine. Thanks Paula and mr. Franks. Both pictures have been added to my site and now averaging 36% returns, so far, so good.
Man, what a drought. I've got nothing, nadda, zip, zilch, zero for about a month and a half now. been reading about everyone else, and I am happy you guys are having success. Just wanted to pass this bit of information along: I got a "too much mail and too busy to sign" letter and facsimile picture Saturday from Boston Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard; only, I never wrote Daniel Bard. I wrote Jonathan Papelbon. This proves the Red Sox do not answer fan mail, but rather have interns stuffing envelopes. I am not mad or angry about this, because I made a request TTM, and was politely told no. I just wanted to let everyone out there who might be thinking about writing to any Red Sox players that it probably will not yield any results.
I guess the guys to get at this point during the season are the retired ones. The fact you pass this information along makes me want to send some request our to retired Red Sox players. Bob Montgomery, Rick Burlson, YAZ (HOF), Rice (HOF), Lynn (HOF), Spaceman Bill Lee, Tiant, etc. Thanks for the tip.
I got my autographed signed abum from shopgoodwill.com of neil diamond. It looks authentic compared to other ones on ebay. Not bad for 12 bucks but was about 20 bucks for shipping. All in all a nice piece to my collection.
Another day of no ttms! I did get a nice Listia win though! I received a very nicely signed copy of the book Gardening with Mommy by Kristen Joyal. I won this for my little girl who just discovered her green thumb! It has a bunch of really neat ideas in it!
Sent out two ttms today. One baseball to Bobby Doerr and one to Mike Mussina. Expecting a quick reply from Doerr but from what I hear, Mussina likes to do all his TTMs at once and could be a 2-4 month wait. Patience is a virtue..
3 days of no ttms, but I did receive a couple of real nice Listia wins! First, I received a signed Classic 5 Sport card of Michael Barrett! Next, I won a signed cd of Irene B. Sweet! Thank goodness for Listia!
I got my first return of the month ttm from the king of racing richard petty. The last time he only signed one item but this time he signed bothtrading cards. Thanks Mr.Petty for an awsome return!
Hello fellow 'graphers! I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a project that I am currently working on. I recently found season one of the old Spike TV show The Joe Schmo Show on dvd. After watching it, I thought that it would be cool to get the autographs of some of the stars of the show. I know that Kristen Wiig (Dr. Pat) is on SNL now, but I am stuck trying to locate the other members of the cast. I have tracked down Mathew Kennedy Gould (Joe Schmo), Melissa Yvonne Lewis(Ashliegh), Lance Krall(Kip),Ralph Garman(the host) and Brian Keith Ethridge (Brian) on Facebook, but none have accepted my friend requests as of yet. I am also in need of the other members of the cast as well. Is there anyone on this group that could help me locate the addresses or maybe have a successful address for any of these people? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I got an autograph that i got of off ebay of coco dolenz. She is the sister of micky dolenz and as been a back up singer for him as well. She has a duet with micky dolenz on his latest cd release king for a day. But no other ttm autos as of yet!
Boy, will I be glad when this week is over! I think that someone put a ttm curse on me!I haven't got a single ttm return all week and I jsut got my 3rd R.T.S. and a former major leaguer that wants money! First the R.T.S. Yeardly Smith 15760 Ventura Blvd. #1730 Encino, Ca 91436 Someone crossed out the address and wrote "RTS Not @ this address" on the envelope. The funny thing was the fact that my envelope was opened and then resealed with Scotch tape? So, they must have saw that it was an autograph request. I guess at least I got my cards back. Secondly, I got a failure from former Detroit Tigers outfielder, Willie Horton. I wrote to him on April 20 and got my card back today unsigned along with a price list. " Due to the overwhelming demand and the business of autographs" He did send a pre-print signature on the price list though. $10 for your card or 15 for a jersey/number/or bat. You can also get a signed 8x10 from them for $20. No thanks Willie! The only good thing is, maybe I can list the pre-print and unsigned card on Listia for a couple of credits! About the only good thing that happened to me autographically today is the fact that I went thrift store shopping and found a couple of signed Indy hats for 50 cents a piece. I still have to research the sigs to see who sined them! I also found 3 signed books at the Salvation Army. One is a signed by actor Richard Keil! All 3 are personalized to other people so I plan to list them on Listia for some credits!
Finally, a cool thrift store story of my own for today. I went looking at our monthly thrift market in Woodstock, GA, and found an 8 1/2" x 11" Candie's shoe ad autographed by Jenny McCarthy for $1! I looked at some PSA examples online, and it is spot on. Drought ended.
Thanks, Adam, and Russ, I didn't mean to show you up on here! I think we were both entering our entries in at the same time. I have always read about everyone's thrift store/market finds, and I have always wanted to hit it big JUST ONE TIME like you guys do. I now finally have my jackpot story!
Just received back my copy of "Lassie: A Dog's Life" from the author, Ace Collins. He wrote a really sweet inscription for me and dated it. He also stuck in a couple of inserts which he also signed. I mailed the book to June Lockhart a few weeks ago to have her sign, which she did. And I've been able to acquire "In-Person" the signatures of Jon Provost, Bob Weatherwax (with the preserved "pawtograph" of Pal who was the original dog that portrayed "Lassie" in the MGM movies and starred in the pilot of the long running TV series), and Joey D. Vieira (then billed as Donald Keeler). Joey played the role of Jeff Miller's (Tommy Rettig) best friend Porky Brockway.
No offense taken at all Jeffery! Jenny for a buck is just too sweet! Congrats! I actually got a couple of ttms today! Lawrence Taylor c/o Pro Football Hall of Fame Mr. Taylor signed a couple of sweet Strating Lineup cards for me in 72 days! Joe Quesada c/o Marvel Comics The current Editor in Chief signed a 1993 Valiant comics insert card and a 1995 Mallrats movie card for me in only 8 days! I am so glad that I diin't get shut out this week!
What a great surprise today to find my mailbox with a large envelope. It was 3 items that I sent to R&R HOF Billy Joel. He signed all 3 in blue sharpie, they look awesome. Very pleased with this one.
To all, I hae been using my home address for obtaining ttm autographs. Since I have a community mailbox every once in a while, one will get slightly bent. Do any of you use a PO Box or is this fowned upon. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.
No ttms today, but I did get in a couple of nice Listia wins. First, I got an autographed 8x10 of former N.Y. Giant Jesse Armstead! I also won a signed card of former Detroit Tigers prospect, Richard Almanzar. Nascar race at M.I.S. this weekend! I'm hoping to get a bunch of I.p. autos!
Gary I've never had a PO Box since I've started this hobby. But my mailbox at home is frinkin huge. About 3x bigger than normal. Got to love those 60's mailboxes!
