Today I got a couple of signed items from tennis champ Michael Chang and actor James Earl Jones. Jones has to be one of the best signers among all actors.
Today was a nice mail day. Got the autographs of Pro Football Hall of Famer, Yale Lary, and former Georgia Tech and Philadelphia Eagles star linebacker, Maxie Baughan. Yale was one of the very best defensive backs of his day in the 1950's and 1960's, with 50 interceptions. Maxie was a 1959 All-American at Georgia Tech, was the MVP of the 1960 Gator Bowl, and helped the Eagles win the 1960 NFL Championship.
I got a few Listias and some ttms to report today. From Listia, I received signed cards of Jim Leyland, Mike LaValliere, Talman Gardner, Allen Bradford, and Marcus Gilchrist. TTMS this weekend brought sigs from: Afa the Wild Samoan, Paul Roma, and Dick Bergren.
Hello..been a long time since I wrote on here but I have a prob I hope maybe out there someone might have an address for.I met wrestling legend Ted Diabase ay WizardWorld last year ...at that time I had a nice convo with him and bought a signed book....normally I check these things right afterwards but there was surrounding con issues and didnt get to til about 3 days later...to find out I got the wrong book.I saw him sign but the books must have accidentally been switched??I looked at his website but not much help for us fans there(in my opinion).I also thought I heard he had surgery recently and thats what brought him back in my memory.Any body out there have a address that I could send my book n tell him the story.Thank you and this is a great site...this wall is always very informative.
Hey Paul, I found a success in April of this year from his church: Heart of David Ministry, P.O. Box 1291, Clinton, MS, 39060..........Looks like he will sign if you put a little money ($10) towards his ministry; but since you did buy a book already, he might give you a pass. And if you go to http://www.heartofdavidministry.com you might find where he might be appearing close to your area on his traveling personal appearance schedule. What exactly happened? Did you get a book inscribed to someone else other than you? I hope this helps you out. I should be charging you for this address because........"Every man has a price, baby! Ha ha ha!"
Yesterday brought me the autograph of Frank Ros, former linebacker and team captain for the 1980 University of Georgia National Championship football team.
@ Eric. I have only written to England once ttm. I have heard that you could send an International Reply Coupon along with your return, but a lot of post offices don't carry them. I. myself, just slipped 2 American dollars in at the time to cover return postge. You might need to make it 3 now, because the exchange rate for a buck isn't what it used to be. It worked for me, but I have only tried it once.
Remember that what it cost to send there, it will cost more to have it returned. An 8x10 with 1 picture I put in at least $5. But american $ is really of no use to them if they don't travel. They can exchange it at a bank, but there are fees for that.
Just remember to be nice, because they don't owe you a thing. We owe them for there time.
hey there everyone, sorry i have not posted in a while. nothing in the mail i guess thats why. but i sent out a couple dozen request by post and about thirty by email so i should start getting a butt load full. I have received five in the past three weeks. but i have been getting ready for surgery on monday so i havent posted anything. I received my lenny wilkins cards back , utf from the post office. and then i received a great signed and personalized photo of Ming Tsai from cooking with ming, i love this show! yesterday i received a two package day, one from irene bauvo , a signed and personalized cd of her new album aswell as a signed personalized 3x5 pic and signed business card, wow what a woman. and then my fearsome success so far. i know that some one out there remembers buck rodgers in the 25th century from the early 80's. well i received a signed and personal;ized photo from thom christopher, and a nice note as well . he played hawk on the show. i spoke with him on face book and he sent out the auto's i have also ben talking to gil gerard and erin grey. what a month.
Darrel, Erin Grey was one of my early childhood crushes. She was so fine! If she was President, she would be named Babe-raham Lincoln! And she is still a hotty today. Good luck with that one. I hope you get it.
Oh and another sad note: Peter Falk passed away at the age of 83 years old. they said that he suffered from alzheimers. damn . another great i wanted to get but now is lost.R.I.P mr Falk.
I finally got a ttm return today! Dr. Jerry Punch signed a couple of Nascar cards for me and included a nice little hand written note thanking me for being a fan and for the kind words! I wrote to Dr. Punch c/o ESPN The good doctor had the remedy for my autograph addiction! LOL!
Receied a personalized photo of Dyan Cannon ttm today for my wifes birhtday, she included a nice note as well. Appears I', averaging about 30% returns right now, I just need to increase the volume going out.
I got a return ttm from christopher plummer and the dreaded return to sender from john stamos. The christopher plummer was about a 3 week turn a round.
I got a sweet reply from Denver Nuggets coach George Karl today! Some time ago, ESPN the magazine ran a story on the upcoming basketballseason and teamed up with Marvel comics to do comic covers for the different teams in the NBA. I sent Karl the Nuggets cover whick is titled "Exit Melo" and pictures Karl surrounded by a few players as they watch Carmelo Anthony leave. Its a real neat piece and I'm glad to add it to my collection! I wrote to George Karl c/o the Nuggets.
Eric, at the suggestion of the Post Master at my post office, I put the same amount on the SASE as I do the envelope I'm sending it in. That way, if they send you something extra (I have had celebs send up to 3 photos) it will be sure to cover it and the celeb will not have to add extra postage. Hope that helps. Lisa
No ttms, but I did get a neat autograph from Listia. I got a nice 1994 Signature Rookies card of Mike Darr. He was a good young player until he was killed in a drunk driving accident. Michael Curtis Darr (March 21, 1976 in Corona, California – February 15, 2002 in Peoria, Arizona) was a Major League Baseball outfielder who played for the San Diego Padres (1999–2001). His father, Mike Sr., pitched for the expansion Toronto Blue Jays in 1977. Brother Ryan played in the Detroit organization for many years before ending his baseball career. In 1995-96 Ryan was named CIF Co-MVP with Palo Verde Yellow Jackets star Tony Blythe (College of the Desert) out of the Southern California Section. Mike in the mean time continued to climb the ladder and landed a spot with San Diego Padres Triple -A team in Oregon and eventually made his way onto the starting roster as a Padre. Darr was a promising young outfielder. The last season he played prior to his death, he appeared in 105 games for the San Diego Padres, compiling a .277 batting average with 2 home runs, 34 runs batted in, and 6 stolen bases. The team Darr played for, the San Diego Padres, held their spring training camp every year at Peoria Stadium in Peoria, Arizona. It was in Arizona during spring training on February 15, 2002 that Darr was involved in a single car accident. Darr and friend Duane Johnson, who were not wearing safety belts, were killed. Minor league pitcher Ben Howard, who had his safety belt on, survived with only minor injuries. Darr was legally drunk at the time. Nearly the entire San Diego Padres organization were among the more than 1,500 in attendance at Darr's funeral. Darr left behind a wife, Natalie, also a graduate of Corona Senior High School and two sons. The Padres wore a black circle patch with Darr's uniform number 26 on the right-sleeve of their uniform during the 2002 season.
I was able to meet davy jones of the monkees two diffrent times to get his autograph. It was to bad the others did not sign but they played a straight 2 hours and fifteen minutes of awsome music!

@Eric. When sending to England, Canada or any other country, again they have me use the same postage. Air mail stamps are often involved of course.
