Just received back today ttm from Bill Mumy the Butch Patrick signed Butch and Bill "Munsters" photo which I sent to obtain his graph. An 11 day turn around. Thanks Bill!
Have gotten behind on telling you guys about my TTMs, so here it goes. I have gotten autographs of 3 LSU football legends in Doug Moreau, Mike Demarie, and Johnny Robinson. Doug was a flanker for LSU from 1963-1965, and was the MVP of the 1965 Sugar Bowl game agianst Syracuse. Mike was an All-SEC guard for LSU from 1969-1971, and anchored some of the best offensive lines LSU has ever had. Johnny was an All-SEC halfback for LSU's 1958 National Championship team, but played defensive back in the AFL with the Texans/Chiefs, and helped guide them to a victory in Super Bowl IV.
Nice big ttm day today! I received autographs from David Fulcher, Eric Ball, Joe Nemechek, Lee Tinsley, John Jaha, Joe Grahe, Steve Decker, Manny Alexander, David McCarty, Keith Mitchell, Howard Battle, and Brian Hunter! Keep 'em comin' Mr. Mailman!
Ugh! I hate it when I have a huge mailday the day before and get bupkus the very next day! That happened to me today! Hopefully, everyone else has a good mailday!
I got an ebay win of a autgraph from wrestler rikishi. From listia i got signed cards from j lehman, scott shields, alex escobar, jamison brewer, jt o sullivan, jr house, glen williams, and natrone means. This will hold me over until i get some autos ttm!
3 days of no ttms form me too. And its not because I don't have a ton out. Maybe the popstal workers have suddenly became autograph collectors and are keeping our SASEs!
@Russ...I hope its not true...but don't think this has never came across my mind before....I have had TTM's come back with half torn envelopes and one I had was totally torn open and re taped closed...I have already complained about it...did not think it would come to that but I am starting to believe some postal workers are fully aware of what we do when they open the mail box in your local neighborhood and see a huge amount of mail going out from one guy (LIKE YOU OR ME) to all RECOGNIZABLE STARS...It really makes you wonder...I am sure I have been beaten for a TTM or so now and then...but there's just no way to prove it...
5 days and not a single ttm in sight! I am feening hard core, but I blew my budgeted money, plus, for postage last month. Is there a 12 step program for this kind of withdrawl?
In the same boat Russ...another empty mail box...longest streak I had with no returns this year was from 9/28-10/13...a 15 day dry spell !!!...I really hate when you go from getting 2 or 3 every other day to nothing...thats the game...I would hate to do what I have always done and that is just pumping more into the out box...but when there is no results it quickly becomes an expensive hobby with no results...
Going to be breaking away from Baseball TTM's and going to try out other realms...will see how that pans out...
Great video CEEGEE! I remember watching this one not too long ago! I have actually taken the steps outlined in the video, its just that I had such great success in the end of Sept./beginning of October, that I blew my postage sending out a bunch of NFL players and didn't mix it up much! I currently have over 80 pending requests out there from last month. Hopefully things will pick up next week!
It is a cool video! i only send out about 20 ttm a month. I do have a listia win that i just got of a preprint of juan gonzalez and a patrick hunter signed card that i won from russ. Thanks russ!
I got 75 pending out there...you would think there would be more returns weekly...or daily for that matter instead of just RTS's...still make me wonder about those mail carriers...
and where you find Secretarials is primarily through the mail. This thread is focused on the Sec ones (not forgeris, or clubhouse)..
thus, if anyone in this thread suspects one received is Secretarial or isn't quite sure feel free to post it ("as it's own subject" so we can keep the commentary compartmentalized to the item) on my Secretarial Thread. If you are sure then provide some verbiage as to why and perhaps someone has an authentic in-person one to compare too.
Appreciate you reading and the assist when you have time.
Another crumby failure today form Curt Schilling...thanks for your heart felt letter...awesome...what a s*** week I am having...2 more mail days left...crossing my fingers on anything this week...
I had a empty returned envelop with teh dreaded stamp envelope open items lost in mail . Im not sure if that would have been my Angelina Love cards or Michael Vick card or another card . but it sucks
Got a 2 TTM mail day today...1 RTS from David Wells...but got the TTM FAVORITE...Bobby Doerr on a 61 year old 1950 Bowman card with Hall Of Fame inscription...this may be the best card return I got this year...will post picture Monday...I hope the rest of you guys come through with good news posts...
Today I received a ttm success from playwrite Don Nigro and a signed bookplate of Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson from my good friend, Bob Baab! Thanks a bunch Bob! Now all I have to do is track down a book of thiers that I can put it in!
Man, are you guys serious? 3 or 4 weeks without anything? I probably should be selfish and hoard all my secrets, but I can't stand the pain some of you are going through. :) Try some these ideas; Golf Hall of Famers are really nice guys who usually sign through the mail, with the exception of "The Big 3," who are Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklas, and Gary Player. You might have to buy those to start of with, but the others are all extremely nice guys. Write to them c/o the PGA, or their home address if you can find them. Many Hockey Hall of Famers are very nice guys and good signers through the mail, too. I've had A LOT of success, as you all have read, with former college stars. Just go on ebay and find you a box of Collegiate Collection trading cards of your favorite school, and do a little searching on the internet to find them. The only thing I'd add is that if you guys are going to try any of these ideas, look these 'ole timmers up and truly find out about some of the amazing games, seasons, and moments they had, and mention these accomplishments. Part of the fun of this hobby for me is learning about the people I write to and letting them know that they are remembered, and will continue to be remembered by being included in my collection.
