After a stellar day yesterday, I was saddened to find 2 lousy return to senders! One was from D'Brickashaw Ferguson and the other was refused from Luc Robitaille! I did get one ttm from Randy LaJoie. He signed 4 of 4 in 528 days! That cushioned the blow a bit from the r.t.s.!

  • CEE GEE

528 days ?...wow...I think my longest return to date was a little over 3 years

  • Russ Robinson

My longest return was from, formere New York Yankees pitcher, Kevin Mmhaat. It was gone a little over 5 years!

  • CEE GEE

  • Steve Zarelli

Shane Spencer... what the heck ever happened to him?

  • CEE GEE

Don't know Zipp...he just fell of the face of the earth after being a Met...I remember when he was suffering a bad stomach viruse from food poisoning and he seems like he never bounced back...he was a fantastic talent early on...I.met him in person many years ago and got him to sign a Yankee ticket stub for me...I wish I got a picture with him....
  • Russ Robinson

This weekend's mail brought me the autographs of cartoonist, Jim Davis, and PGA legend, Mike Hill. Jim is bewst known for creating the cartoon "Garfield," although he also created "U.S. Acres" comics and cartoons, as well. Mike was a great golfer on the PGA Tour, and seemed to get better with age. With 18 Senior PGA Tour wins, he is tied for 13th place on the all-time wins list for senior golf.

  • CEE GEE

Awesome stuff guys...Hey Russ...Manning has been coming back a lot so I am sure you will be getting your return shortly...

  • CEE GEE

A 16 day return from Jenkins for $25 and a 61 day return from one of my all time favorite Yankees Mr.Shane Spencer "the home run dispenser"...simply awesome...sending the Jenkins to my collector friend in Chicago in a Christmas card...going to get another one for my self on a vintage card....Merry Christmas to everyone !!!!!

  • David Jackson

    Nice returns CEE GEE!

  • David Jackson

I had 2 great returns today.  The first is from Peyton Manning and the second I'm really excited about is Hall of famer Stan "the Man" Musial!!  Thanks Mr. Manning and Mr. Musial especially for taking the time to respond to my letter.

  • Russ Robinson

Great returns guys! CEE GEE, That Shane Spencer card is off the hook! Also, I have seen a bunch of people getting Manning back recently, so I thought that I would try my luck before all of the repeat offenders overwhelm him with requests! I got lucky with Shaq before he stopped signing because of the repeaters! I also found an adddress for Matt Hardy that I am trying out. We'll see how that goes.

  • Robert Babb

I got a return from author mary higgins clark and listia wins of autos of scott baio, erin moran, and aron tippin ttm today!

  • CEE GEE

Cant believe you got Stan "THE MAN" Musial...he never responded to me...not sure if my book is outdated or if its the same address I sent over to you...that's so awesome...Manning has been returning everyone's lately...I got his address and 8x10 ready to go but have slowed down on the sending lately for the holidays...SO SWEET BRO !!!!!!

  • David Jackson

Congrats Robert, VERY nice returns you got.  Thank you CEE GEE!  Your the signature expert , do you think he signed it himself?  It looks like some others of his I have found online but Im no expert.  I sent it to the addy you gave me.  Maybe my attempt caught him on a good day.  I hope you get your book returned.

  • Russ Robinson

    Nice haul today, Bob!

  • CEE GEE

I am flattered David...I am not an expert but the auto from Stan looks good...you may have gotten back 5-10 guys I didn't this year....too sick either way you cut it !!!!

  • Robert Babb

    thanks!

  • David Jackson

CEE GEE, I owe you the credit because your the one who got me started and told me how to do everything. Also you have helped me aquire some awesome bought pieces too that I wouldnt have got without your knowledge.  This group is lucky to have you.

  • David Jackson

Guys I didnt post this piece earlier because I was trying to do some research to see if it is an auto pen or secretarial signature.  I did get this TTM from George W. Bush.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  sorry its not a better picture but thats the best I could get.  I can tell you the signature was done with a marker, it is not printed on.

  • CEE GEE

A killer epic nerd return from the Marvel Master himself....MR. STAN LEE !!!!...the marker he used was not so good but the piece is simply amazing and since my uncle is visiting for the holidays I think I will give it to him and go for another request since hes the reason I got into comics in the first place...he actually owns the original spider man comics....just toooo sick...

  • David Jackson

That piece makes my jaw drop.  just crazy awesome buddy!  your uncle is gonna flip!

  • Steve Zarelli

Awesome Stan Lee!! I didn’t think he responded TTM any longer. I got him TTM in the 90s and have heard about failures since then.

For comparison, I got this through a private signing over the summer. (I have since added Joe Sinnot)

  • Robert Babb

Maybe stan lee is in the christmas spirit?

  • Russ Robinson

2 ttms today! Rick Mears signed 3 of 3 in 100 days. One got a little smudged, but its really no big deal. Rafael Belliard signed 2 of 2 in 118 days. I wrote to him c/o the Detroit Tigers.

  • CEE GEE

Wow guys...INSANE PIECES ALL AROUND !!!!!!!!...thanks for the kind words

  • David Jackson

Russ very nice score!  some of my fondest memories are going to the track with my uncle when i was a kid and meeting the drivers in the infield during the month of may.

  • Russ Robinson

Thanks David! I think that the Indy drivers are some of the best signers in motorsports! I hate the fact that they don't race at MIS any longer. They used to have the entire field of drivers set up in downtown Jackson to do a signing for about an hour the Friday before the race. We used to walk away from that experience with well over 100 autographs from the guys and gals of the IRL!

  • David Jackson

Thats awesome Russ.  I remember similar occasions here at the brickyard.  Getting a free goodyear hat or a program and having it filled with at least 20 signatures in a day.  driving in the race simulator, having my picture taken with some fake milk and a wreath, lol. and good autographs too.  the andrettis were all out in force supporting each other, eddie cheever, tony stewart, scott brayton, ect.  I wish i still had all that stuff now.  Im sure its all buried at my parents house in the attic.  as an adult one year I was lucky to talk to dan wheldon for a while at a pacers game.  he acted like we knew each other for years.  Indy racing is something special. its about the only good thing about this state, lol.

  • Steve Zarelli

Sorry to report the GWB below is an Autopen. There is a matching pattern in the UACC Pen & Quill Magazine, February 2011.

  • David Jackson

well, Mr Zipper I was hoping for better news but Im happy and thankful to know the truth now for sure.  I really appreciate you taking the time to find an answer for me.

  • EjsWurhl

About Stan Lee:  Has anyone else had any luck TTM?  At shows he charges $30-$40 per sig.  I remember another collector friend of mine in Michigan saying that he was done TTM.  The letter that they sent was nice and just stated that because of the internet there were too many requests.

  • Julie Snyder

I've received Christmas cards from original Mouseketeers Lonnie Burr, Bobby Burgess, Mary Espinosa and Don Underhill over the weekend. Expect one from original Mouseketeer Sharon Baird as well as Jon Provost (Timmy from the Lassie show) within the next few days. Also received back today Susan Orlean's new biography on Rin Tin Tin which she signed and dated for me.

  • E.B.G.

GWB is definitely an autopen.  For my money, I would buy a copy of 'Decision Points' with a pre signed bookplate.  They are as good as gold!

  • E.B.G.

@Julie- do you send the celebrity one of your X-mas cards and hope that they will respond back in kind?  Or are you specifically asking for a X-mas of theirs?

  • Steve Cyrkin, Admin

If you talk to Julie and see her pictures with the Mouseketeers, it's clear as day that no one loves and appreciates them more. Julie builds real friendships with celebrities whenever she can, and you can see in the photos that she is warm and excited when she meets them...and that they love being with her.

What Julie does from her heart helps the entire autograph community.

  • Julie Snyder

Thanks, Steve. It's true E.B.G. that I have developed friendships with these celebs and have been exchanging Christmas cards, as well as sending them birthday cards, for several years. Mary Espinosa is a more recent one that I've been able to start corresponding with. Bobby Burgess has typically sent out holiday family photos including his first grandchildren....twins. So it's cool to see how they've been growing.

  • E.B.G.

@Julie- good idea!  It would be fun to collect X-mas cards by celebrities.  I have looked around in the past hour online and they don't seem to come up that often.

  • CEE GEE

Hey guys...I come to realize I may have truly struck TTM gold with Stan Lee...all of my other TTM pals all over the country on you tube are just in shock and simply cant believe I got him back...I have been told he stopped and doesn't do it no more and have been told he doesn't respond and is near impossible to get TTM because like was mentioned the request are just insane and rightfully so...I have othe collector friends also tell me mine is good and I have seen his auto prior to getting it so I had an idea of what it should look like...but once again...this struck a cord with my other TTM com padres that basically spun them for a loop...I am really happy he took the time to send back to me !!!!

  • Steve Zarelli

My sense is, CEE GEE, is you got very lucky. Perhaps it is also the holiday season. There have been some celebs in the past who have been known to answer a few requests only around the holidays. Al Lopez is an example. Here is a response I got from Stan back in 1999. Since then, I know a number of collectors who have tried numerous times with no response. BTW, Stan’s show signing fee is $90+, with a portion usually going to charity.

  • CEE GEE

That's so sick !!!!!!!! I still wouldn't mind having to pay for it to get something better signed...I wonder if he would except payment TTM...a buddy of mine told me he tried 4 times to get him TTM and failed everytime...he was really shocked when he found out...I didn't know he was so hard to get I figured its just a gamble any way and it worked out really well for me !!

  • Steve Zarelli

Stan does mail-in private signings all the time. I’ll see if I can find a schedule for 2012.
