I guess it was me, Russ! After a week,  I got anoher Hall of Famer, this time in the form of Green Bay Packer great, Willie Davis. Willie played his first 2 years with the Cleveland Browns as an offensive tackle before being traded to the Packers, where Vince Lombardi converted him to a defensive end because of his speed and agility. While with the Packers, he helped guide them to 5 NFL Championships, and earned 1st team All-Pro honors 5 times.

  • Robert Babb

Today's mail brought me the autograph of Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker, Joe Schmidt. Joe played for the Detroit Lions from 1953 - 1965, and helped direct them to 2 NFL Championships in 1953 and 1957. He was an 8-time First Team All-Pro selection.

  • Russ Robinson

Great stuff today guys! I'm glad to see everyone's successes picking up! Today, I added a new card to my Toledo Walleye set! Matt Krug doesn't have a card in the actual set, but he is a great young player and I wanted his signature for my collection! I'm down to needing only 8 to complete the set! I also got Fred Couples to sign 6 of 6 for me in 1185 days! I sent these out on December 31, 2008! Never give up!

  • Jeff Jacobs

Went to the Bracket Town NCAA Final 4 in New Orleans and had a big day. Met Miles Simon, Kenny Smith, Bob Huggins, Scott Drew, Leonard Hamilton, Dereck Whittenburg, Jimmy Graham, Bobby Hurley. Can't wait for tomorrow for another big day. I will update tomorrow on who I get.

  • Russ Robinson

Finished up the mailweek with 3 packages! First, I got a response from, Nascar legend, Bud Moore. I also crossed 2 more off of my Walleye list! I am down to only needing 6 to complete after adding Joey Martin and Mike Pelech!

  • Jeffery Kite

Hey, Russ, buidling autographed team sets are so much fun, aren't they? I've put together almost 2 University of Georgia sets of 20 auto'd cards each, and one Louisiana State University 20 auto'd card set. I'm about half way done with a Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Florida State set, too.

  • Russ Robinson

This is actually my frist set ever that I am trying to complete! It would be a pretty coolfeeling if I was able to complete it though!

  • CEE GEE

Russ...I love how you always get 6-6...I dont think I was ever able to ever get more then 2...LOL...I sent out 3 once and only got one signed...but its all good...love seeing your success..."the hardest working man"...you the man bro

  • Robert Babb

I got a nice response ttm from connie francis. She signed my dick clark trading card. I have heard she does not sign ttm but it was a nice surprise.

  • CEE GEE

    Sweet Rob !

  • Russ Robinson

Sorry guys, but I'm going old school today. I had a great mailday! I'm just not feeling the pics tonight.

First, I got 4 of 4 from Haku. He signed a couple of them in the dark spot of the card, so you can barely see the auto. Next,  Jeff George signed 1 of 2. I sent him an old pre-print from when I wrote to him in the 90s. It was kind of bent up, but I thought that it would look neat signed. He sent it back unsigned with a brand spankin' new one along with it!

Sean Landetta signed 3 of 5. He didn't send back the other 2. No biggie, except for the fact that he kept the one card that I really wanted him to sign! D'Oh!

I did get a nice return from John LeClair. He signed 3 of 3.  And  former Toronto Maple Leaf, Brian Bradley, signed 4 of four.

Last, but not least, Comic artist, Scott McCloud signed my 1992 Eclipse Famous Comic Creators card and sent along a sketch on a card decoy that I sent. Neat return!

  • Russ Robinson

Alright, I decided to post pics. I don't think that the written word will do these justice.

  • Jeffery Kite

Hey Russ, did you notice that Mr. McCloud hid his name inside the scetch? Thought that was pretty neat and a classy touch.

  • Russ Robinson

Yes I did notice that, Jefferey! I thought that it was a neat touch! I've done this before when writing to comic book artists. I will send along a card decoy and ask if they could sketch a little something on it for one of my kids. They've gotten some pretty cool ones!

  • CEE GEE

THOSE RETURNS ARE BEYOND AWESOME RUSS....LOVE THAT SKETCH...I HAVE A FEW REQUEST OUT FOR SKETCHES...STILL WAITING ON THEM

  • CEE GEE

RETURNED IN 14 DAYS...LOVE IT...AN ORIGINAL 1953 BOWMAN CARD SIGNED IN PEN AS REQUESTED !!!...10 BUCKS

  • David Jackson

Russ, im not a football guy but your Jeff George is sweet!  I remember being in elementary school when he and a bunch of other colts came and visited.  Its one of my best childhood memories.

CEE GEE, awesome Irvin card!!  Trade you a baseball for it :)

  • Robert Babb

I just got an autograph ttm from carrie fisher

  • Russ Robinson

Thanks David! I thought that it came out real nice too! I just wished that he would have signed the other card as well. Maybe I will just send it to him by itself.

CEE GEE, Nice return on the Irvin! You are the classic baseball card God! Sweet success!

Bob, Congrats on getting Princess Leia's sig. Hopefully it was on an 8x10 when she was Jabba's slave girl!

  • Russ Robinson

Just got one today. Former Nascar driver, L.D. Ottinger signed 2 of 2 for me in 7 days!

  • CEE GEE

Whats up guys...I got an RTS from Jim Palmer...I have several other address for him but if anyone has one that works please hit me up...thanks guys !!

  • CEE GEE

after nearly 37 days I got back my Reggie Jackson that YES he does sign TTM's for the minimum for a $35 donation to charity...I heard he does and now I see it actually worked...very cool...now off to get the rest of the guys...

  • David Jackson

AWESOME!! Congrats!! I know how much you want that card completed,

  • Jeffery Kite

Cee Gee, you basically have to go through MAB Celebrity Services to get Palmer. However it's pretty reasonable. Check out the link:

  • Russ Robinson

Today, I received 4 of 4 from Steve Tasker. Unfortunately, he signed one card on the back. So that one is up for sale or trade if anyone is intrested. I also posted pics of my L.D. Ottinger cards that I got yesterday. I noticed that , not only did he sign them, but he also took the time to bend the top corner of one and the bottom corner of the other. Nice touch L.D.!

  • Steve Zarelli

Well, I am about 3 days away from Spring Training being an utter, total, abject, 100% FAIL.  I could still get something back, but it's not looking good. So far, the only thing I have gotten back is a RTS from AJ Burnett.

  • David Jackson

Im right there with you Zipper. my first Spring training year try and its a bust.  I havent seen hardly anyone getting stuff back from ST.  maybe the players banned together to not sign?

  • Steve Zarelli

I've written many times in the past, but this is the first time I've done it in a few years. As a Yankee fan, I don't expect high returns, but I always got at least a 25% return rate... even in the 90s when they were winning the WS every year. And bear in mind, I'm not writing to the big stars like Jeter and AROD and CC. I won't waste my time with that.  I write to the pitchers, utility guys... guys where I think I have a prayer of getting a return.  Unless I get pleasantly surprised in the next few days, this may have been my last ST hurrah.

  • David Jackson

I even wrote some crappy players from other teams besides the Yankees to try and get a response.  nothing.  I tried to time it just right to be there at the start but maybe I was a week late.

  • Steve Zarelli

I dropped my stuff in the mail the day before pitchers and catchers reported. It was there right at the beginning.

  • Robert Babb

I got an autograph ttm from jarrod and brandi from storage wars! The picture is the same as the one that russ got a few weeks back.

  • Russ Robinson

I got a nice haul of sigs today in the mail. First, I got  2 of 3 from Greg Kelser. He kept the 3rd card, but at least he signed in Sharpie this time! I also got some sweet signed trading cards from, author, Lisa Hendrix. All I had to do was send her a SASE!  Ray Evernham signed 5 of 5 for me and, finally, Basketball Hall of Famer, Carol Blazejowski signed my '94 Flair Team USA card!

  • David Jackson

Nice Going Russ!  Your Killing it as usual.  Nothing this week for me so far but I reached out a bit and took some chances on people I didnt expect to get back. That way I could at least say I tried.

  • Robert Babb

    yes way to go russ!

  • CEE GEE

@Russ...I really hope you take care of your mail career during the holiday with that bag of TTMS they drop off everyday...LOL...Love seeing your success bro...it really makes me feel good to know that a true collector can crush it weekly...

@Jeff thanks for that info...I will be shooting many many things to that show to be shipped back...there are some really great prices...thanks so much for that...

@Zipper and Dave...yeah guys the ST TTM's has only got me one back...I only sent about 9 or 10...some guys did get Rivera...I actually both one at auction of a guy because I just wanted it for my PC and it came with the envelope so that was pretty cool...I have seen them trickle in...but like Zipp mentioned...it was amazing 10 or so years ago what the spring training returns would bring in...nothing like that at all now a days....it was really ALMOST automatic because some guys only sign TTM's during spring training...but that sure has changed...

  • CEE GEE

whoops I meant BOUGHT one at auction...OFF a guy

  • Robert Babb

I got autos ttm from matt hardy and bobby sherman.

  • Jeffery Kite

Today's mail brought me the autograph of former Florida State Seminole receiver, Darrin Holloman. Darrin was one of the little guys that always made a big difference in games. He scored the game-tying 2 point conversion in the 1984 Citrus Bowl against Georgia, and teamed with his brother Tanner and runningback Sammie Smith to help the Seminoles rush for 288 yards against Indiana in the 1986 All-American Bowl victory. Nobody was better at running the reverse play than Darrin.
